2. Step 1 Have your data ready to create your graph (Your tally chart should be brought to the center with you) Click on the Internet Explorer Icon, then find the Graph It folder in your favorites. Next, click the Create a Graph link. This will bring you here: Click the type of graph that you were directed to create. (We’re beginning with bar graphs.)
3. Step 2 On the first tab (Design) next to Direction, click Horizontal Under Style, next to Legend , change the box so it says no legend.
4. Step 3 Enter your graph information by clicking the Data tab. Make sure your graph title matches your data This should match the number of labels you have on your tally chart Leave this blank Each label goes next to an item number Choose the color that you want your bars to be
5. Step 4 Next to Data Labels click no next to Show Labels You can change the appearance of your labels here.
6. Step 5 Click the Preview tab. If you see something that you’d like to change, click one of the previous tabs and make changes.
7. Step 6 Click the Print/Save tab when you’re finished with your graph. Click the Download icon Change the File type to EMF and click the download button.
8. Step 7 Save your graph on the desktop in the Graphs folder as your name and number (Ex. Tina8). Next, close the Internet windows and open a blank Microsoft Word Document.
9. Step 8 Type today’s date as your title. Then insert your graph by clicking the insert Tab in your tool Bar. Next, click picture and find your graph on the desktop in the Graphs folder. Last, type your name underneath the graph followed by a colon and your question.
