WORKSHOPS
"Charting Your Career Path" is an education training session
designed for youth and young adults to map out their career
plans. Our organization assist each participant to create their
"Career Path Plan" that covers their field of choice,
educational facility, funding options and employment options
upon completion from the educational institution. Through the
mentor program we reinforce the plan that was created by
coaching each youth/young adult to stay on track with their
"Career Path Plan".

WORKSHOPS
MONEY MANAGEMENT
is a financial educational workshop that is offered
monthly and individual training sessions. Some of
the sub-topics include: How do I budget with
Limited Income, How much should I save Monthly?
and How do I track my Expenses.

TRANSITIONING TO LIVE ON MY OWN WHAT
STEPS SHOULD I TAKE?
is a educational session to teach youth/young adults
that are aging out of foster the steps to live living
independently and how to get housing. Through this
session we discuss how to establish and maintain
good credit. In addition, our organization offers a
Housing Placement Service for young adults that
have "aged out" at 21 from foster care in acquiring
affordable housing.

SCHOOL PROGRAMS
Juvenile crime peaks during the after-school hours
2pm-6pm
10% of all juvenile crime occurs between 3pm-
4pm
Baltimore City has the highest dropout rate in
Maryland
The State Department of Education reports that
one-third of Maryland students are reading below
grade level
Fifty percent of those students are from
Baltimore City

12. CATHERINE TROTTER -
FOUNDER
Catherine Trotter graduated from Morgan State University in 02'
with a Bachelors in Political Science. While attending the
university she volunteered
with community organizations and discovered her purpose and
passion, which was to work with youth in Baltimore City. In
2002 she decided to start on her
journey with House of New Beginnings and in 2005 the
organization was granted with the 501(C)3 status. Since 2002
she has worked with many non-profit
organizations in Baltimore City such as Druid Heights CDC as
their Youth Organizer, the Coalition to End Childhood Lead
Poisoning as their Health Care
Educator, Morgan State University Chemistry Department as
their Grant Budget Coordinator and at Coldstream-Homestead-
Montebello Community Corporation
as their CSAFE Community Organizer.
