Factorsthataffectourclients
The people of this community has dealt with years of economic, social, and political inequalities. The voices of the
community has often been dismissed and marginalized; as a result, many youths' resort to rebellious personalities, dropping
out of school, gang violence.
Political Factors
The instability of economic growth and inadequate
education can cause a lot of people to go rouge in a
community. Typically, the crime rates goes up as job
opportunities go down. Mothers often must accept
social welfare benefits from the government at the
expense of the fathers presents to maintain a household.
Without a father to implement structure, this causes a
higher risk of the children becoming disobedient,
undisciplined, and disrespectful to authority figures.
Economic Factors
Rising cost of living (Inflation), lack of job opportunities,
low pay, and inadequate social security benefits. Unable to
pay for mentors, therapy, or medical care.

Social Factors
One of the biggest social consequences of poverty is
family issues. The social factors for adolescents start
within their home and feelings of aggression is carried
with them into the world. This is where bullying
usually starts and can impact the social and cultural
lives of others. If this is not corrected, communities are
at risk experiencing higher rates of crime and
victimization.
Technological Factors
In today’s era, it seems like every child has a phone.
Adolescents who are in needs of service will be able to find
MY Brother’s Keeper through a simple google search,
along with directions to the location and information about
the organization. Technology will open doors for new
opportunities for the clients we will be serving, and they
will access to applying for jobs and schools.

Culture & Diversity
The culture of My Brother’s Keeper is set to be a professional
environment geared towards success. We will have mentors that
supervise the tenants dressed in business attire to model success for
the young adults. By bringing in clients from different ethnics and
backgrounds, clients will be able to make new friends outside of
their own communities and learn about different cultures and
background. This will build character, growth, development, and
build cultural sensitivity in our tenants. We also get a variety of
clientele whose life we can improve and can make a major impact in
their communities upon return.

OrganizationalTheory & Design
The My Brother’s Keeper organization works on a Universal Management Principle. Since this organization deals with adolescents and young
adults, it is important to have five basic functions of management to provide structure to our clients. These functions include planning, organizing,
commanding, coordinating, and controlling. To effectively implement structure and the five functions of management, we have hired a team of
professional life-coaches/mentors to supervise our tenants. The Universal management principle will also be applied to our staff members as well
through our team leaders, as the first principle of universal management defines the division of work as: specialization of task and control of the
number of people under each worker or manager improves effectiveness and efficiency. Each department will have a supervisor that will oversee
employees that are assigned a certain number of tenants. Therapist/counselors will be assigned tenants by age range to give them the best chance at
receiving counseling. We will divide the tenants by having a therapist that specializes in counseling for adolescents under 18 and a therapist that
specializes in counseling for young adults 18 to 25. Life coaches and mentors will also have the same division of tenants. The Infirmary, however, is
open to anyone who needs medical assistance. Nurses will be always available to ensure our tenants are safe and able to receive any medical
attention. Staff members will work in departments that they are certified for and must be able to provide any certifications, licenses, resumes, and
transcripts to apply for any position.

Program Evaluation

My Brother’s Keeper will use the qualitative and quantitative methods to collect data for future evaluations of the
organization. Staff members of the organization will be evaluated on the performances of the clients while in school,
improvement in behavior and mental health, college enrollments, attaining jobs, and moving out of the organization into
apartments, college campuses, or back home with family members. The organization itself will be evaluated on the
impact it has on the community such as, improvement in relationships between clients and their families, and a decrease
in youth homelessness. The biggest measurement for outcomes for this organization is reestablishing connections
between our clients and their families. families are what makes a community and children are the future. So, to make real
improvements within the community, we must work to establish and promote family bonds and connections within the
community.

Final Pitch
Once My Brother’s Keeper Program is successful in taking young adults from the streets, it will increase the chances of
reducing crime rates in our communities. This is going to be a great opportunity for implementing growth and development
into our youth and plant seeds for a better future. We will not only protect and provide them with necessities, but we are
also here to guide them in tapping into the potential that they did not know they had. My Brother’s Keeper will be another
way that we reintegrate people into society and restore the relationships within families. The vision of My Brother’s Keeper
is a great investment for communities because the real investment is in the people. And here at My Brother’s Keeper, we
provide people with opportunities to change, grow, and to succeed.
