Wild animals have a savage nature and always try to escape captivity to seek freedom, unlike domesticated animals which are naturally tame. Wild animals must hunt for their own food while domesticated pets eat from plates provided by humans. Many wild animals like tigers, leopards and elephants are facing extinction due to hunting - tigers for their valuable skins, leopards and elephants for their skins and tusks respectively. Some animals that appear similar like pigs and peccaries or dogs and foxes still maintain their wild temperament despite resembling domesticated species. While some wild animals can be tamed, none can truly be domesticated at the genetic level like domesticated livestock.
