  • Jessicacoates Jessicacoates, copyright academic at Creative Commons, San Francisco Hey Mark - Jessica Coates from Creative Commons Australia here. Great presentation - in fact, I'm thinking of stealing some of your slides for my presentations. Under the terms of the licence, of course!

Update - here's the presentation where I drew on your slides: http://www.slideshare.net/Jessicacoates/creative-commons-in-the-classroom-presentation/

And more fun, here they are in Spanish: http://www.slideshare.net/Jessicacoates/creative-commons-en-el-aula-presentation/

Let me know if the Attribution's ok?

However, there is a small but crucial mistake in the slides that I wish you'd correct: That is, that CC licensing does _not_ necessarily mean that people are allowed to modify the work. You have chosen to allow this but some don't.

As Andres Guadamuz put it 'Creative Commons defines the spectrum of possibilities between full copyright (all rights reserved) and the public domain (no rights reserved). CC licenses allow creators to retain copyright, while inviting certain uses of the work, a 'some rights reserved' copyright.'

It's important that people do not misunderstand this basic concept of CC.

Otherwise, as said, a very good presentation. Thanks for licencing it under CC by-noncommercial (allowing modifications).
