Editor's Notes
Mention we have a helpdesk on each floor and a member of staff near each self issue machine where they can ask for help
Mention that e-resources are a much more reliable source of information than just using Google or WikipediaMention that the college pays a subscription to access them, so the quality of the materials are very high and can be accessed from any computer with internet access
Mention that all the books, journals, DVDs and ebooks are in the catalogue and that there is a computer which can just be used for searching the catalogue on each floor next to the printer.
Mention that resources for their course are available through the VLE, and students can check their print credits, attendance record etc once they have logged in
These can be accessed from home, and downloaded
Mention that ‘reference’ refers to dictionaries, encyclopedias, quotes, maps and can be looked at by subject
Mention it covers all major UK newspapers as well as international, such as the New York Times and local titles such as the Daily Post
Mention we also offer basic stationery items for sale as well as laminating binding photocopying and printing ( including colour)
Mention this may be useful at peak times such as during exam time, coursework deadline dates or during the lunchtime period when the centre is very busy
