3. Then what?
 After your greeting, you start the body
 It should start to the right of the greeting on
the next line.
 Your first sentence should be an introduction
of why you are writing.
– Are you responding to a letter they sent you?
– Do you have a question you want to ask?

4. Greeting + body
 Response to someone else´s letter:
– Dear Pilar,
Thank you for the postcard from Rome. It
was beautiful.
 You are writing your friend first:
Dear Pilar,
I am writing to you because I will be
visiting Tres Cantos next week. Would you like to
go shopping with me?

5. Next…
 Provide more details.
– Do you need to tell your friend where you are
meeting?
 Respond to questions that your friend asked
in their letter. OR ask your friend questions if
you are writing first.

visiting Tres Cantos next week. Would you like to
go shopping with me?
Let´s meet next week at the Carrefour in
