How to Copy/Save Film /Clips <ul><li>FROM unitedstreaming </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Log onto United Streaming. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Search for video films / clips by grade levels/subjects. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Select film or clip (segment). </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Click on the disk icon to download. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Choose the correct player for your software. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Windows media for PPT </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>QuickTime for other software </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Save in your folder. DON’T FORGET TO COPY CITATION!!! </li></ul></ul><ul><li>FROM A WEBSITE </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Find a film / clip. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Right click on the selected video. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Choose “Save target as.” </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Check to be sure the file you are saving has the correct file extension </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>.jpg, .jpeg, .bmp, .gif, etc…. NOT HTML </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><li>Note: Be sure you copy the citation for EACH video file used </li></ul>

How to Copy / Save Images <ul><li>FROM unitedstreaming: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Log onto unitedstreaming </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Search images [pull down menu] </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Open image </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Choose size (small or medium) </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Save in your folder—DON’T FORGET TO COPY CITATION </li></ul></ul><ul><li>FROM A WEBSITE </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Find an image </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Open the image –NOT THE THUMBNAIL </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Point to the image and RIGHT CLICK: Save as </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Check to be sure the file you are saving has the correct file extension </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>.jpg, .jpeg, .bmp, .gif, etc…. How to Embed Films / Clips into PowerPoint <ul><li>Note: You need to have the video downloaded to your computer BEFORE you can embed. </li></ul><ul><ul><li>PowerPoint allows users to embed video clip Windows Movie Maker* files. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>To insert a video segment: </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Click on the slide where you want to insert a video segment. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>On the toolbar, under Insert, select “Movies and Sounds.” </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Click “Movie from File.” </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Browse out to your folder on your flash drive. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Select desired film / clip. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Click “insert.” </li></ul></ul>

How to Embed Films / Clips into Inspiration <ul><li>Note: You need to have the video downloaded to your computer BEFORE you can embed. </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Inspiration 8 allows users to embed a video clip QuickTime* files. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>To insert a video segment: </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Click on the main window where you want to insert a video segment </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>On the menu bar, under Tools, slide down to Insert Video or Sound, then select Video. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Navigate your computer to the video segment you want to insert, then click Open. </li></ul></ul>

How to Embed Films / Clips into Timeliner <ul><li>Note: You need to have the video Downloaded to your computer BEFORE you can embed. </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Open Timeliner </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Double click on the Gray box next to the event (When). The &quot;Edit Event&quot; screen will pop open. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Select &quot;Pictures or Movie&quot;. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>The menu will expand, and you will need to click on &quot;Import&quot; </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>The &quot;New Graphic&quot; page will open, click on &quot;Browse&quot; -change file type to movie. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Browse your computer to locate the video segment you want to insert into the timeline. Single click on the title, then select &quot;Open&quot;. Click on &quot;OK&quot; and the link to the video will be created. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>To view as embedded, run the &quot;Slideshow&quot;. Click on the Slideshow icon on the top of the page and then click &quot;Run Slideshow&quot;. </li></ul></ul>
    13. 13. <ul><li>FROM unitedstreaming : </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Find the Video / Clip you want to link in United Streaming. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>From the Play button to start the video /clip. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>As soon as the video is playing, RIGHT CLICK on the play button and choose “Copy Shortcut.” </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Open your PowerPoint. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Highlight the text or picture you want to link. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>From the toolbar, click “Insert: Hyperlink.” </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Ctrl-V will paste the hyperlink. </li></ul></ul>How to Hyperlink Films / Clips into PowerPoint

How to Hyperlink Films / Clips into PowerPoint <ul><li>FROM A Website : </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Find the video you want to link </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Copy the URL (either out of the browser OR point to the target and right click to copy shortcut) </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Open your PowerPoint. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Highlight the text or picture you want to link. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>From the toolbar, click “Insert: Hyperlink.” </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Ctrl-V will paste the hyperlink. </li></ul></ul>

How to Hyperlink Films / Clips into Inspiration <ul><ul><li>Find the picture or text you want to link. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Click on the hyperlink icon. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>To get URL from unitedstreaming: </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Start the video /clip. </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>When video is playing, RIGHT CLICK on the play button and “Copy Shortcut” </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>To get URL from Website: </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Copy the URL from browser OR point to the target and right click to copy shortcut. </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Go back to Timeliner and Ctrl-V will paste the hyperlink in the web link box. </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Go Back to Inspiration and Ctrl-V will paste the URL in the Link to box. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Click on OK. </li></ul></ul>All Inspiration versions allow users to hyperlink video.

How to Hyperlink Films / Clips into Timeliner <ul><li>Highlight an event and click Edit. </li></ul><ul><li>Select &quot;Web Link&quot;. </li></ul><ul><li>LINK TO unitedstreaming </li></ul><ul><ul><li>From the Play button start the video /clip. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>As soon as the video is playing, RIGHT CLICK on the play button and choose “Copy Shortcut” </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Go back to Timeliner and Ctrl-V will paste the hyperlink in the web link box </li></ul></ul><ul><li>LINK TO ANOTHER WEBSITE </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Find the video you want to link </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Copy the URL (either out of the browser OR point to the target and right click to copy shortcut) </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Go back to Timeliner and Ctrl-V will paste the hyperlink in the web link box </li></ul></ul>

How to Insert Images into Inspiration <ul><li>Images are stored in the folder on your computer… </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Open Inspiration. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>From the toolbar, choose Edit “Insert Graphic.” </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Click “Insert” then “Picture” then “From File.” </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Browse out to your folder on your flash drive. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Select desired photo. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Click “Open.” </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>The picture will appear in your document. </li></ul></ul>

How to Insert Images into Timeliner <ul><li>Images are stored in the folder on your computer… </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Open Timeliner. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Add an event </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>From the tool bar click “Add: New Graphic.” </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Click “Browse” to go out to your folder on your flash drive. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Select desired photo. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Click “Open.” </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>You can move the picture wherever you want on your document. </li></ul></ul>
