taught that marriage “is exclusively a

ever sanctioned marriage between same-sex
partners.
According to Rod Dreher of the Dallas
Morning News, “Another reason people oppose gay
marriage is because the belief that its supporters are
all willing to force their own particular view of
marriage and its meaning on an unwilling society”.
5. Civil Liberties – Equality for All
As the idea of gay marriage grows more people
agree with it.
Gays and lesbians have been given a few rights from
various state and federal laws.
6. Public opinion of gay marriage
Los Angeles Times stated that more than 40% of the
nation supported same sex marriages.
According to the Pew Forum on Religion and Public
Life (April 2010) in 2003 only 45% of respondents
favored civil unions; today that number is 57%.
7. Legalizing gay marriages will
prevent doomed relationships
If same sex marriage were legalized there would be
less divorce. People would not feel pressure to try to
be heterosexual.
