Eighth Crusade

2. WHY DID IT BEGIN
The Eighth Crusade could be considered a
partial success because Charles managed to
receive trade rights with Tunis, even though
diseases in the army prevented the city's assault
3. WHO FOUGHT
Louis was persuaded by his brother, Charles of
Anjou, to attack Tunis first in order to command
the ports and make the conquest of Egypt, Louis'
goal, easier.
4. WHERE DID IT TAKE
PLACE
The Eighth Crusade was launched in 1270 by
King Louis IX of France.
5. WHAT WERE THE
EFFECTS OF THE 8
CRUSADE
Thousands of the crusades, returning broken in
spirits and in health , sought an asylum in
cloistral retreats, and endowed the
establishments that they entered with all their
worldly goods, besides all this, the stream of the
ordinary gifts of piety was swollen by the
extraordinary fervor of religious enthusiasm
which characterized the period into enormous
proportions.
6. HOW DID IT END
The eighth crusade ended in 1270. same as it
began. I looked it up on the website about it and
it said it ended and began on 1270.
7. DID ANOTHER CRUSADE
FOLLOW THIS, WHAT
AND WHY
The ninth crusade follows it because it comes
after all the fights and things that go on in the 8th
crusade.
