Convection current<br />The transfer of thermal energy by the circulation or movement of a liquid or gas.<br />
P-waves<br />A seismic wave that can travel through a liquid and a solid. The p stands for primary.<br />
S-waves<br />A seismic wave that can travel only through solids. S-stands for secondary wave.<br />
Crust<br />The thinnest layer of the Earth. <br />It is the top layer on which we live on.<br />
Mantle<br />The layer of rock  between the earth’s crust and core.<br />
Inner core<br />The solid, inner most layer of the earth.<br />It is made up of iron and nickel.<br />
Waves of energy that travel through the Earth and away from an earthquake in all directions.<br />Seismic waves<br />
Continental crust<br />The layer of igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic rock which form the  continents.<br />
Oceanic crust<br />The part of earth’s lithosphere that surfaces in the ocean basins.<br />
