1. Evaluation
My advertisement looks like a convincing media product because it looks realistic. I
have used product conventions, for example: slogan, brand name, product name etc.
My knowledge of generic conventions is also clear when looking at my
advertisement because it shows that this product is aimed at girls as I have a picture
of a girl on my advert.
My media product has represented freshness as the wave coming towards the
perfume bottle refreshes it. This isn’t realistic because you would not really see a
perfume bottle in the middle of the ocean. Representation is an important issue
because if you make it colourful and interesting then it catches your audiences’ eye a
lot more than if you make your advert in one colour, plain and boring.
My target audience for my media product would be teenage girls and young women.
Overall I feel my target audience will be attracted to my product because on the
advert there is a teenage girl so that shows that the product is aimed at teenage girls
and the advert is also very lively. I have appealed to them by putting a teenage girl
on the advert to suggest that the product is aimed at teenage girls and also by using
calm colours to suggest that this product is very fresh.
The feature I am most pleased with is the wave because it took me quite a long time
to get rid of the surfer that was on the wave but I am really pleased with it now
because I did a good job and it looks as if the surfer was not there in the first place .I
cut out the writing which was on the bottle and put my product name on it instead
and I think that I did a good job and it looks natural. I like the perfume bottle as it
looks very fresh .The picture of a girl is successful because it tells the audience that
the product is aimed at teenage girls and young women. I am really proud that I was
able to get rid of the surfer on the wave and make it look like he was never there in
the first place because otherwise I would have to use another picture which would
probably be not as good as this one.
This project has taught me how to be creative in Photoshop. Over the last few
months I have learnt to be more creative.
