Brief history and information:
Volvic is a brand of mineral water. It’s source is Auvergne Regional Park just to the
north of the Puy de Dôme in France.
The first of the springs in the area was tapped in 1922, and the first bottles
appeared on the market in 1938. Today, Volvic waters are internationally known.
Over 50% of the production of Volvic water is exported to more than 60 countries
throughout the world. Two bottling plants produce over 1 billion bottles of water
annually and are the principal employers of the local commune. In 1993, the Volvic
Company was bought by the Groupe Danone Group.
Since 1997, Volvic has been using PETE, a recyclable material, to make their bottles.
Volvic also produces a range of fruit extract drinks in Europe named Volvic Touch of
Fruit (later renamed to "Touch of..." followed by whichever flavour it is). In 2005,
they were introduced in North America under the brand Volvic natural.

Volvic has used a simple
design which is eye catching
because of the colours used.
They have also added a
diagram of the
volcano/springs that they
use and how they obtain
their water from it, this
shows that their water is
natural and appeals to
customers because of this
factor. In the bottom right
there is text used and it
explains briefly what their
product is like e.g. ‘Deep
Hydration’. They have also
made some of the text bold
so that the important
information stands out and
points out the products best
features.
4. TV Adverts
The most recent advert for Volvic is called ‘Unstoppable
Volcancity.

The new campaign heroes the natural power and force of the
volcano and seeks to encourage people to unleash their own
‘Unstoppable Volcanicity’ . The advert is very dramatic and
looks very effective so it promotes its product very well. This
advert is aimed for a more older generation due to the way
its presented as a more serious, dramatic advert.
Some other adverts they have done are more humours and
are aimed at a younger generation and families because of
music used and animations.
