[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],European Innovation Facts from the Past Innovation seemed to have been frequently generated with a lot of accident, only local competence and without strategy.
[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],European ICT-Innovation-Strategy: How not to “Think-Big-and-Act-Small” Early pioneering in Europe could in many cases not be transformed into sustainable market success as there was no sufficient “competence” penetration.
[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],Lessons Learnt The increasing hype phenomena may be a chance to introduce converging ICT technology faster than before – if complexity management can be done properly.
Technology Competence – a Challenge for Journalism? Needs Communication Some examples from 2006: Weak signals e.g., Broadband Technology, Fixed & Mobile Convergence vs. Hype e.g., Second Life, IPTV New Technology... Quadruple Play? CRM New Phones? Toll Systems? Broadband? IPTV? ... Mobile TV? Security? E-Government ...and Competence. Media Professionals are claimed to stay technology-competent but the number of journalists qualifying themselves decreases because of high pressures in terms of time and money. Mobile B2B iTV Galileo? RFID? VoIP
[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],Consequences for Innovation Journalism
[object Object],[object Object],Consequences for Innovation Journalism European ICT innovation is obviously part of a difficult cultural problem. With new complex trends as convergence things get still more complicated. Networked Competence is the answer.
