23. Internet of Things was in 1991...
● The most profound technologies are those that disappear. They weave
themselves into the fabric of everyday life until they are
indistinguishable from it.
○ physical disappearance refers to the miniaturization of devices and
their integration in other everyday artefacts as, e.g., in clothes, so that
you don’t see them anymore.
○ mental disappearance refers to the situation that the artefacts can still
be large but they are not perceived as computers because people
discern them as, e.g., interactive walls or interactive tables. Thus,
technology moves mentally into the background.

...the inter-networking of physical devices, vehicles (also referred to as
"connected devices" and "smart devices"), buildings, and other items embedded
with electronics, software, sensors, actuators, and network connectivity which
enable these objects to collect and exchange data. The IoT allows objects to be

each other). This includes everything from cellphones, coffee makers, washing
machines, headphones, lamps, wearable devices and almost anything else you
can think of. This also applies to components of machines, for example a jet
