2. "Inspiring others to be innovative requires creativity
when explaining the function of technical innovations.”
Statement of Inquiry
In The Next Chapter, the Guiding Question has been replaced by what is now
called the 'Statement of Inquiry'.
The Statement of Inquiry for this Unit is the following:
5. Creativity because...
● Learning about human Creativity that has
produced a technological innovation
● Creating health benefits
● Being Creative to produce an informative
video.
10. Innovation is...
“A new idea, device, or method.
The act of process of introducing new ideas, devices, or methods.”
-Merriam Webster online
In your case, the technology you investigate will be a technological innovation
and you will be producing an innovative product of your own.
13. So what exactly is the task?
Students are required to research the benefits
of a technological Innovation on our health and
then use their own Creativity and Innovation to
produce an informative and inspirational short
film to educate a target audience on the health
benefits and Function of this technology.
14. Focus of the Unit
As well as ensuring we focus on the key and related
concepts and Global Context, one key part of this unit
will be learning how to effectively film and edit a short
video.
If you want a good mark in Stage C, you are going to
have to show you have learnt and understood
filmmaking techniques, and can put them to the test by
making your own short film.
16. Who is your target audience?
● Students studying a particular school subject
o E.g. PE/Science
● Any other ideas?
17. Making a video for use in a subject
Whatever subject you choose to do it for
will also mean you have an end-user:
e.g. PE: Mr Purcell.
You can go to an end-user to ask them for
advice or any particular requirements. This is
research!
