1. This Year 7 student wrote this piece
after six weeks of study.
She had never studied French before.
She used a dictionary to look up two
words and to check her spelling.
Students were given twenty minutes to
write about themselves and five to read
through their work.
In order to write this, students were
allowed to use their test paper which is
on the next slide.
Most students wrote from their long-
term memory using neither their
exercise book nor the textbook.
2. Students had access to their vocabulary test during the writing assessment. Obviously,
the more vocabulary they knew, the easier the writing task would become.
