Learning Objective: By the end of this lesson, the students should be able to:
i. be able to find the meaning of words and phrases by using the dictionary.
1.Set Induction.(5 minutes)
Students and teacher talk about their life at their village.
Lesson Development.
1.Presentation
-Students are to watch a video of the poem.
-They are to discuss their view and feeling after they watch the video.
2.Practice
i. Distribute worksheet 1 to students to find the literal meaning pertaining the poem.
ii. Students refer to the dictionary to get the meaning
iii. Students write the meaning of the given phrases based on the contextual clues.
3.Production
i. Students present their answer and compare notes with their peers and teacher.
ii. Students paraphrase all three stanzas in group of five.
iii. Students present their answer and compare with other group.(with teacher’s guidance)
iv. Students explain why the persona asks the same questions thrice. Students present their
answers orally.
