The target audience for this 
magazine is younger children that 
listen to pop music regularly.
LAYOUT 
The layout of this magazine is very friendly for its audience. The pink at the top of the 
magazine breaks it up because it has a white background. The white writing laying 
on top of the magazine also breaks it up. This appeals to the target audience 
because of it is easy to read and this magazine is directed to a younger audience. 
There is a structure in the way the page numbers are laid out which give the magazine 
an easy read and quick to refer back. This is good for the audience because they 
will not be looking for something that is difficult to find. 
There are also pictures which break up the amount of writing on the page. This gives 
something else to the page which is more interesting for the reader to look at. Also 
there are page numbers which makes the articles easier find. 
This has and easy read style to it which connotes a relaxed feel this appeals to the 
target audience because they don’t want to read a grown up sophisticated 
magazine.
COLOURS/FONTS/IMAGES 
The Colours that have been used a yellow pink and white. These are all 
girly colours and very bright to attract the younger audience his 
connote energy and youthfulness. The colours change a lot and are not 
kept the same to make the magazine energetic and appealing for the 
younger audience. 
The fonts vary. They are in different style and different size. The main 
writing is kept simple and in an easy font. The page numbers are in 
bigger bold writing which make the stand out so they are easy to read. 
The font that ‘celeb &gossip’ is written in a girl font because it has curls 
on the end which makes it very informal. 
The images are informal because they are not being serious in them. I know 
this because his choice of clothing is not appropriate for a formal 
magazine. We can tell this is targeted at a younger audience for this 
purpose. The pictures connote happy and fun.
LANGUAGE 
The language in this magazine is laid back and informal. The use of slang 
on the title of the contents page ‘mag’ connotes that it is a laid back 
relaxed magazine. 
MODE OF ADDRESS 
The mode of address is informal. This appeals to the target audience, by 
not using the words contents. That word is to formal for the magazine 
and using slang appeals to the audience as it is child friendly. The 
colours are all bright and child like and the layout is not laid out in a 
modern way which makes the magazine look fun and energetic which 
appeals to a younger audience.
Brand Identity and House style 
This magazine has an instantly recognisable brand identity because of it’s 
use of colours. The colours yellow and pink are very girly and connote 
fun and exciting which is a distinct feature on the contents page. We 
recognise this as the magazine pop because the colours are always 
used in the same way for example the most important parts of the 
magazine are highlighted in yellow and the pink fades out in each 
column of writing. The house style is reflected through the fonts that 
also make this magazine recognisable as pop magazine because it 
follows through from the front cover. The fonts on the front cover are 
the same on the contents pages this makes the magazine unique. The 
use of language follows through from the front cover because of its 
very informal using slang such as symbols like hearts to replace the 
words this makes the magazine seen as a children's magazine because 
of its easy read. Also the language in use of general words have been 
shortened to suit the audience.
