    Notes on slide 1

www.PairCoaching.net **Start 9:30** White paper : manufacturing enterprise system by object management 2.1.1. Current Environment Successful businesses understand customer needs, they develop product to meet customer needs, and they bring product to the market quickly, priced for value . These successful businesses are able to convince users that their product will improve their productivity, quality and profitability. These successful businesses manage to do this at a time when global competition is more ruthless and unforgiving than ever before. In fact, they sometimes achieve success by cooperating with these competitors through the formation of Virtual Enterprises. Businesses not only need to be ready for change, they must be adaptable and flexible, striving for continuous improvements. It is uncomfortable but necessary. .About()
    2. Situation
      • Large team inside a large organisation
      • Divided in four sub team’s
        • Blue, Red, Green, Yellow
      • Yellow sub-team
        • Consists mainly out of juniors
        • Is scapegoated by other team’s
        • Is scapegoated by internal customers
      • I was working there about a month
    3. What did I do?
      • Had a talk with the yellow sub-team about their performance
      • Told the whole team to cancel all their plans the afternoon
      • Scheduled meeting rooms the whole afternnoon
        • Started wih a 1 hour discussion about the problems
        • Come up with answers in groups of 3 or 4 (20 minutes)
        • Regrouped everybody
    4. Team Solution
      • We only need 3 groups
    5. Problem
      • HOW will we reorg now?
    6. My Scary idea
      • Form new sub team’s by walking around for 20 minutes
        • NO talking
        • NO up front rules
        • Feel your inner voice, act accordingly
    7. Question:
      • How will we know we are good distributed?
        •  We want rules
        • No you don’t. If it does not feel good for you, you move.
    8. After 5 minutes Please form groups so I can see them
    9. After 10 minutes Are you happy? No I’m not Then keep moving Yves, you have to do this! No I don’t. That is what self organizing teams are about! I will not take decisions for you, but help you taking decisions! Click ! Click ! Click ! Click ! Click ! Click ! Click ! Click ! Click ! Click ! Click ! Click ! Click ! Click ! Click ! Click !
    10. After 15 minutes Are you now happy? No I’m still not happy... Then keep moving But I can’t change it... You are allowed to move one other person
    11. After 15 minutes
    12. After 20 minutes Are you happy? The problem for me is that the yellow team still sticks together Wait a minute, I can see that that is the result. You have all been moving. Don’t blame just them for that. Let’s take a 5 minute break and then retry. Taking that last remark into account
    13. A lot later Are you happy? Yes? Yes? Yes. Yes! We don’t have a french speaking problem in our team Is that a problem? No but we said... That is why I said no rules...
    14. End of the day...
    15. Conclusion
      • The team came up with a solution
      • They are now much more self-organising as before
      • If I would have taken the decision, they would have been less self-organising as before
      • Make sure the team realizes the regrouping is needed
      • It is a compromise
      • It is much better then what I came up with
      • It’s better accepted then when I would have done it
      • At the end I was full of energy and exhausted at the same time
    16. Thank you!!
