3. My colour palette is made
up of three main colours;
red, white and black.
Black and White are used to
stand out against each
other and to complement
the small amount of red on
the cover.
The colours in the
photograph are light
colours which represent
good.
These colours are used to
show his talent in music and
his return to the music
industry is a good
occurrence.
4. The cover targets young
adults who read music
magazines.
His posture shows he is
relaxed and confident in
what he does.
The position of his head
makes his eyes in line
with the main article
drawing the readers’ view
towards the article.
His outfit shows he is a
hip hop artist or a metal
head but focuses on
alternative rock.
5. The magazine follows
conventions by having a
strong central image and
therefore makes the
magazine look
professional.
The lighting effect on my
model makes it look like
the sun is shining down
on him and showing he is
a great musician and
artist.
The model’s open stance
makes him seem open
but his turned head
makes him seem a little
arrogant and thinks he is
better than you.
6. The broken wall
behind him
emphasises the
“Loose Cannons” font
type as it looks loose
and represents that
their come back is
ground breaking.
This image is framed
so that the model is
taking up a large
section of the front
cover and therefore
shows his importnace.
7. Other conventional elements of
the magazine cover include :
a barcode with date and price.
These features help create a
professional look.
There are no clear conventions
about the positioning of these
items, and they may move
around from cover to cover
depending on the layout and
image used.
8. The Plus section is another
conventional method of showing what
else is in your magazine. This is
section is necessary as the main
article may not interest the reader, do
your product must entice them with
other options to try and get them to
purchase your product.
The use of two colours is a
conventional way of breaking up cover
text as it makes it easier for the
reader to differentiate between
stories.
9. The use of 28 days later in the
magazine name is have a bold
font to attract your target
audience.
The outer glow effect used in
the minor stories section is
used to distinguish the font
from my model’s body as
feedback showed it was hard to
read against.
Text size selection was aimed
to emphasise key elements –
the Band’s name, the magazine
itself, and headline contents.
Fonts are chosen so as to be
seen from a distance, but there
is not so much variation as to
confuse the potential buyer.
10. My colour palette is made
up of three main colours;
red, white and black.
These are the same as my
cover’s colour scheme
and therefore shows
continuity.
Black and White are used
to stand out against each
other and to complement
the small amount of red
on the cover. The red in
the subscription box
stands out against the
black plainly and
emphasises the offer on.
11. The amount of features
shown in the contents is
a conventional amount
and has enough content
to look professional.
The position of the
subscription box at the
bottom of the page is
conventional as the
reader eye’s would
slowly be drawn down
to it by its break in
colour from the white.
12. The black bar across the
top is used to highlight
the text within and is a
very conventional way of
using another colour in a
magazine.
My contents follows the
codes of a magazine
contents as it places a
web address for the
magazine within as I did
not have one on the
cover.
13. The use of the image
is to emphasise the
Live section and the
gigs it will be talking
about. Most
magazines I looked
at had an image of a
gig if the began
writing about tours
or other events.
14. The use of white for the
article name is to contrast
against the black
background.
The red is to show the
passion the band and the
editor have about music.
These colours are also use to
make reading the text easier
as they are distinguishable.
The layout follows the
conventions of three columns
to make the double page
article look professional.
15. The pose of my model
make him look open but
confident.
The low camera angle
make him look imposing
and powerful.
These to feelings of my
model make him seem
like a confident musician
ready to storm the stage
again.
