2. What is Flex Time?
 40 minutes daily (except Wednesday & altered
schedule days)
 Time for:
 Assignment completion
 Additional help
 Collaborate with other students
 Study
 Passion or personal interest projects

3. Students will…
 Be in a designated learning space for entire time
 Current teacher’s classroom
 Library
 Cafeteria
 Be on time
 Bring necessary supplies
 Take responsibility for your learning

5. Flex Time is NOT for:
 Socializing
 Using electronic devices for time-wasting
 Walking around
 Leaving the school
 Running rehearsals, club meetings, practices
 Time for new teacher instruction

6. Other uses of Flex Time
 Morning announcements (only on M, T, Th, F)
 Assemblies
 Course selection
 Emergency drills
 Test or lab completion
 Special class extension activities
 Workshops or guest speakers
 Counsellor appointment

7. Benefits
 Fewer I’s due to missing assignments and tests
 Higher grades
 Less time needed to complete assignments at home
 Students catch up after absences
 Students learn time management & self-regulation
 Opportunity to pursue your passions
 More access to your teachers for extra help

 Encourage your parents to attend
