Good listening skill is one of the most desirable soft skills. However, many of us are poor listeners. This presentation is about ten such habits which affects the quality of our listening adversely. We must avoid these habits to improve quality of our listening.

 Are you able to focus your
attention on what the speaker is saying?
 Are you able to put aside
your preconceptions and judge
the speaker's message on its merits,
 Is your listening affected by whether
you agree or disagree with the ideas or
like or dislike the speaker as an individual ?

4.  Are you able to analyze the
speaker's message and ask
questions to test its logic and accuracy?
 Can you identify and recall key
points of a speech to your satisfaction?
 Are you satisfied with your
ability to take notes during a lecture?

Do not just hear, Listen pay attention to:
 What the other person is saying,
 What he/she is not saying, &
 What is his/her body language.
Do not keep thinking what to say next, or
Keep waiting for your chance to speak.
