How do you use media
technologies in the
construction and research,
planning and evaluation
stages?
RESEARCH AND PLANNING
AND
CONSTRUCTION OF
PROMOTIONAL PACKAGE
AND
EVLAUATION
The previous slide indicated the different digital
technologies that I have used with my blog.
To present my research and planning, evaluation and
promotional package I used Blogger as it allows me to use
a versatile range in order to presenting my work in an
creative way. For example I could embed a YouTube
video to support my point. This is creative yet also
effective when presenting my work.
The most important and key digital technology that
allowed for my work to be displayed would be the
internet as I was able to upload my trailer look at existing
horror trailers and present my very own work. My entire
A2 horror coursework has relied heavily on the internet, it
gave me a guidance to using various digital technologies
such as Prezi or Slideshare to present my work creativly.
Blogger allowed me to record my work like a diary, I
found it an enjoyable experience as I could also
have the benefit to share to my group and keep the
groups ‘conventions’ yet personalise the layout to
my own liking. I could include a wide range of
presentable formats on blogger which is beneficial
as I can support yet express my creative side.
To record the film trailer my group and I used a
Digital Single-Lens Reflex Camera (DSLR) that
allowed each scene to be recorded in high
definition. This was also used for the ancillary tasks
in both for the practice shots and the images we
decided for the poster and magazine front cover.
This camera was very versatile as it had many
features that ensured that each scene was
recorded in high quality.
When editing the trailer we used Photoshop and
Sony Vegas Platinum Suite, this editing software
bought the vision of my group and I to life. It
also allowed us to open our horizon to new and
creative effects we could use. This was a very
enjoyable task as we saw our different scenes
become a story of its own. We experimented
with sound clips and the layout of shots to
produce what we feel the perfect horror trailer.
The ancillary construction of media technologies
consisted of the Digital Single-Lens Reflex Camera (DSLR)
and Adobe Photoshop. The DSLR camera ensured each
photo was taken at high definition which produced a
clear pixelated photo with high quality for both the
magazine front cover and poster. This ensured there was
professionalism and a maintenance of high quality
throughout our work.
Throughout my A Level course of Media Studies my skills
have expanded through many areas, especially
Photoshop. This is due to the constant use of the
programme, at first there was a very limited amount of
skills I possessed . However as I used it constantly my
skills have grown and I have a greater knowledge and
understanding of the editing software.
By using YouTube tutorial videos and the help of my
peers and teachers I have developed the skills to
improve my and produce higher standards of work.
For the post production stage I used my mobile
phone to take high quality images to portray the
target audience answering the questionnaire. In
addition I have recorded some feedback, this
allowed me to improve the existing package to
higher standard that which I can confidently say the
audience would enjoy.
However, I felt that I could have videoed and
discussion with the audience to receive more
detailed audience feedback to improve all three
pieces of my work.

  • 4. The previous slide indicated the different digital technologies that I have used with my blog. To present my research and planning, evaluation and promotional package I used Blogger as it allows me to use a versatile range in order to presenting my work in an creative way. For example I could embed a YouTube video to support my point. This is creative yet also effective when presenting my work. The most important and key digital technology that allowed for my work to be displayed would be the internet as I was able to upload my trailer look at existing horror trailers and present my very own work. My entire A2 horror coursework has relied heavily on the internet, it gave me a guidance to using various digital technologies such as Prezi or Slideshare to present my work creativly.

Blogger allowed me to record my work like a diary, I found it an enjoyable experience as I could also have the benefit to share to my group and keep the groups ‘conventions’ yet personalise the layout to my own liking. I could include a wide range of presentable formats on blogger which is beneficial as I can support yet express my creative side. To record the film trailer my group and I used a Digital Single-Lens Reflex Camera (DSLR) that allowed each scene to be recorded in high definition. This was also used for the ancillary tasks in both for the practice shots and the images we decided for the poster and magazine front cover.
  • 6. This camera was very versatile as it had many features that ensured that each scene was recorded in high quality. When editing the trailer we used Photoshop and Sony Vegas Platinum Suite, this editing software bought the vision of my group and I to life. It also allowed us to open our horizon to new and creative effects we could use. This was a very enjoyable task as we saw our different scenes become a story of its own. We experimented with sound clips and the layout of shots to produce what we feel the perfect horror trailer.
  • 7. The ancillary construction of media technologies consisted of the Digital Single-Lens Reflex Camera (DSLR) and Adobe Photoshop. The DSLR camera ensured each photo was taken at high definition which produced a clear pixelated photo with high quality for both the magazine front cover and poster. This ensured there was professionalism and a maintenance of high quality throughout our work. Throughout my A Level course of Media Studies my skills have expanded through many areas, especially Photoshop. This is due to the constant use of the programme, at first there was a very limited amount of skills I possessed . However as I used it constantly my skills have grown and I have a greater knowledge and understanding of the editing software.
  • 8. By using YouTube tutorial videos and the help of my peers and teachers I have developed the skills to improve my and produce higher standards of work. For the post production stage I used my mobile phone to take high quality images to portray the target audience answering the questionnaire. In addition I have recorded some feedback, this allowed me to improve the existing package to higher standard that which I can confidently say the audience would enjoy. However, I felt that I could have videoed and discussion with the audience to receive more detailed audience feedback to improve all three pieces of my work.
