12. OCCUPATIONAL DANCE
• Pasiguin is about a fisherman
trying to catch bangus, shrimps
and sugpo with the use of a
sibot (fish net), not knowing it
has big hole in it. This gives him
a difficult time because the fish
keeps slipping out of the net.

• Subli is considered a
favorite of the people of
the barrios of the
municipality of Bauan,
Batangas. It is a
ceremonial worship
dance performed in
homage to the Holy
Cross referred to in the
vernacular as Mahal Na
Poong Santa Cruz.
14. Comic Dance
• Kinoton is a comic
dance from Ilocos
Sur. It depicts the
movement of a
person bitten by
ants.
16. Wedding Dance
• Pantomina was originally a
wedding dance from the towns
of Bicol's Estandante and
Sorsogon sub regions. This
dance is traditionally
performed during wedding
festivities by the couple and
their visitors. The dance is still
popular in the Bicol Region
even up to this time.

• Commonly performed
during festivals in Bohol and
other Visayan towns, this
dance portrays a young
playful couple’s attempt to
get each other’s attention. It
is performed in a moderate
waltz style.

it all. One of the oldest
religious celebrations in the
country, Ati-Atihan is
characterized by a parade
filled with face-painted
celebrants, indigenous
costumes and weapons, tribal
dances, and loud drumbeats.

called on Cordillerans to
tone down the presentation
of war dances to avoid
imparting the wrong
impression that some tribes
still practice tribal wars giving
the impression that the region
is not a safe place to visit,
thus affecting the growth of
the local tourism industry.
