2. History
Blaise Pascal (born 19 June 1623 19 August
1662) was a French mathematician, physicist,
inventor, writer and Christian philosopher. He
was taught by his father.
While still a teenager, Pascal started some
pioneering work on calculating machines. After
three years he created 50 prototypes and he
also invented the mechanical calculator.
3. About Pascal’s Triangle
In mathematics, Pascal's triangle is a triangular array.
It is named after the French mathematician Blaise
Pascal . Other mathematicians studied it centuries
before him in India, Greece, Iran, China, Germany, and
Italy.
Pascal's triangle has higher dimensional
generalizations. The three-dimensional version is
called Pascal's pyramid.
4. Pascal’s Triangle Pattern
To build the triangle, start with 1 at the top, then
continue placing numbers below it in a triangular
pattern.
Each number is the numbers above it added together
(except for the edges which are all 1).
If you can’t get the answer for Pascal’s triangle pattern,
ask people how to do it. Then you can try solving it by
yourself.
5. Interesting Facts
Pascal died in 1662 Paris France at the age of 39.
In 1642, while still a teenager, he started working on a
calculating machine. Three years later he invented the
mechanical calculator.
Pascal and his brothers and his sister never been went to
public school they were home-schooled by their father.
