You also learn about the native birds like the kiwi, A
portion of what you pay to go on a Canopy Tour goes directly
back into the conservation of the forest! Back in 2012 the
Dansey Road Scenic Reserve was a quiet place that came alive
at night; but not in a good way. The forest was crawling with
possums, rats and stoats and unfortunately this meant that
our native species were not doing very well at all. They
started their trapping program back in 2013 and within a
couple of weeks over 800 pests had been caught.They have been
going ever since and it has been a big success with lots of
new native species being discovered
