This document discusses Transactional Analysis (TA), which examines personality and interactions between people. TA was developed by Eric Berne in the 1950s and focuses on analyzing transactions - the messages exchanged between those involved. It divides personality into ego states of Parent, Adult and Child. TA classifies transactions into three types - complementary, cross or veiled - based on whether responses match expected ego states. It also examines games, motivations behind veiled messages, and scripts which are patterns of behavior learned in childhood.
