3. Permission
Picture a mother with her
new baby. In her Adult, she
is practicing techniques in
child care books and taking
care of the child. The child
in her may feel great:
“There is another kid to
play around here”.
4. Permission
She may be enjoying the
physical interchange of
strokes between the baby
and herself. Picking up her
nonverbal message, baby is
likely to conclude: “
Mother wants me and likes
me being close to her”.
5. Permission
In script language, we
say that the mother is
giving her baby
permissions – here,
permission to exist and
permission to be close.
