2. The Mongol Empire had fallen
on hard times
They were divided and beaten
Close to demise
Until a boy arose named
Temujin
Born in the 1170s to a splinter
clan
Temujin was only a boy in
need
When his father was poisoned
by a rival band
And he was forced to lead
3. In 1182, his encampment was
attacked
Temujin was taken prisoner and
led to an enemy camp
He escaped by midnight to thus
retract
With his followers, Temujin found
refuge to revamp
They later joined with a powerful
Mongol chieftain
With this aide, Temujin avenged
his clan
He grew a strong reputation
And was elected Khagan
4. Temujin took the name Chinggis
Khan
And lead his armies with power
and force
He first humbled the Tangut
Kingdom and were thus subjected
to the khagan
The Mongol armies then took the
Jin Empire and continued their
course
After China became a foothold
Chinggis Khan began his attack on
Islamic world that did so sprawl
Using cavalry and clever tactics to
gain control
Two years was all it took for it to
fall
5. Chinggis Khan had an interest in
the arts
And established a capital at
Karakorum
So he could summon the wise
and clever from all parts
His conquests brought a peace to
Asia for some
As he turned to China to finish
the conquest
Chinggis Khan turned grievously
ill
On August 1227, the leader
passed with dangers stressed
Leaving his son Ogedei with a
large role to fill
6. Chinggis Khan conquered
many lands
Through conquests he
opened trade
And brought peace to the
many hands
Who fell to his “barbaric”
raids
