GOALS FOR UNDOCUPEERS
1. Educate participants on current DACA policy and opportunities for safe and
productive advocacy within their college/university’s current climate;
2. Provide materials and resources for university/college professionals to assist
students in creating safety plans and support networks;
3. Teach participants about the empowering history of immigrant youth and advocacy
for educational and immigrant rights that led to DACA and what suggested plans
are as we move into 2020; and,
4. Assist participants to understand key components and resources to care for the
mental health of undocumented, DACA-mented and immigrant students including
those from mixed status households.

1. What is campus climate like for undocumented people?
2. Is there an Undocumented Student programming staff member to support students in their
academic, professional, and extracurricular development?
3. Are there accessible legal clinics and or legal services that undocumented students can access to
support understanding of the rapidly changing immigration laws and possible abrupt change of status?
4. Does your campus have statements of support and safety for the undocumented community and
clarified that they will not collaborate with ICE?
5. Does your campus have an immigration response procedure in preparation for local mass
immigration raids and for emergency needs, such as food and housing?
6. Has your campus identified the financial aid resources that exist for the population?
Are there professional development trainings for staff so that people providing support for students know
how to assist the population?

  • 3. UndocuPeers Organized by United We Dream - Youth-Led organization - 4-5 Hour training - Developed by undocumented student - Overview (UWD)
  • 5. GOALS FOR UNDOCUPEERS 1. Educate participants on current DACA policy and opportunities for safe and productive advocacy within their college/university’s current climate; 2. Provide materials and resources for university/college professionals to assist students in creating safety plans and support networks; 3. Teach participants about the empowering history of immigrant youth and advocacy for educational and immigrant rights that led to DACA and what suggested plans are as we move into 2020; and, 4. Assist participants to understand key components and resources to care for the mental health of undocumented, DACA-mented and immigrant students including those from mixed status households.

  • 12. Within Higher Education Questions 1. What is campus climate like for undocumented people? 2. Is there an Undocumented Student programming staff member to support students in their academic, professional, and extracurricular development? 3. Are there accessible legal clinics and or legal services that undocumented students can access to support understanding of the rapidly changing immigration laws and possible abrupt change of status? 4. Does your campus have statements of support and safety for the undocumented community and clarified that they will not collaborate with ICE? 5. Does your campus have an immigration response procedure in preparation for local mass immigration raids and for emergency needs, such as food and housing? 6. Has your campus identified the financial aid resources that exist for the population? Are there professional development trainings for staff so that people providing support for students know how to assist the population?
