Tuckman's stages of group development outlines 5 stages that teams progress through: forming, storming, norming, performing, and adjourning. In the forming stage, members are positive but work independently as they learn tasks and procedures. During storming, members push boundaries and resist control while trying to understand how the team works. In norming, variety and communication strengthen the team as members support each other.
