2. Low key lighting;
This shot was very easy to
create as
We made the whole room
dark by turning all lights off
and pulled the blind down
using this as a back drop.
We then put my phone on
the window ledge and
shined a torch but holding it
quite far away. I think this
looked really good as it
created a more shadowy
affect, this would work well
if, in our final task, we
wanted to make a character
appear bigger and more
dominant, using low key
lighting would help achieve
this.
3. Side lighting;
We used a torch on the left side of the piano
To create this shot. I think this would
Be a good type of lighting to use in
Our thriller as it creates a mysterious image
Which creates tension, even though its
A piano it still looks mysterious and creepy
Just through the use of lighting.
4. Back lighting;
Here we just chose a hallway
In which had dark feel to it, with
The purple walls and doors
making it darker enhancing the
light. I think this was really
affective as you can see the light
just coming through the
windows, letting only a bit of
light in creating more of a
chilling feeling due to the dark
tones. I think this would look
good if we used this type of
lighting in our thriller piece as it
creates a silhouette which
creates a tense atmosphere.
5. Natural lighting;
This was a very simple shot as all
We had to do was take the picture,
We didn’t alter anything or use any
Type of artificial light. I think this
Created warmth and seems normal, if
We where to use natural lighting at any
point in our thriller then it would be a
normal scene in which we didn’t want a
specific mood to be created.
