Evaluation – Part 3
2. Momentum pictures
Firstly, we looked at momentum pictures to produce
and distribute our film. We chose this company to
distribute and produce our film because they have
produced films like insidious, sinister and dark skies.
3. Similar to our genre
These films are similar to our genre which is why we
chose this certain company. I have looked at the film
Prisoners and the distributors of the film was Summit
Entertainment, Warner Bros. Pictures and Paramount
Pictures. I then looked at the different films that these
distributors have distributed in the past and I have
also looked at the films that are similar to our genre. I
have found that Summit Entertainment only
distributed Sinister which is similar to the genre of our
title sequence but isn’t exactly the same.
4. Similar to our genre
I then looked at Warner Bros. Pictures and the only film
they have distributed which is similar to our title sequence
genre is The Conjuring, so from this research I have
decided not to choose this distributor. The last distributor I
looked at was Paramount Pictures. From my research I
found that this distributor has distributed most of the
Paranormal Activity series and this could be helpful for our
film as our film has some elements of horror in it. I think
that a media institution that was familiar with the type of
genre that our film was would be able to distribute our film
successfully. This is because they have experience with
distributing these types of films and will know what exactly
to do when trying to get the public to go and see it.
