How does your media product represent social groups?
1. How Does Your Media Product
Represent Social Groups?
Zafirah Boateng
2. What sort of people have been
represented?
• Ethnicity: We have used only 3 characters in our
product. These all consist of having different
ethnicities which include British or Italian.
• Gender: All females.
• Identity: The characters all have different
identities to match the personalities being
portrayed.
• Age: In reality the ages consist of being above 16
but in the product there has been a variety of
different ages listing from 14+.
3. Why/How?
• We have decided to use two different
ethnicities to try and show to the audience
that we are not secluding others. By making
the characters all have different identities
implies that we have the knowledge of making
reality different to acting. The fact that we
have made the ageing look different from
reality conveys that actors/actresses need to
have the ability to change according to script
which our characters have clearly done.
