2. Purpose of the study
 To examine impact of work-life-balance,
administrative support, salary and teacher input
in decision making process on the performance of
teachers.
 Identify the difference in the performance
between male and female teachers

3. Previous studies
 Gius (2016) found that charter schools’ teachers are less willing to leave their jobs for
better pay and are satisfied being teachers.
 Arif & Farooqi (2014) found positive relationship between work-life balance and job
satisfaction of university teachers in Gujrat, Pakistan.
 Haq & Hasnain (2014) found salary and workload largely correlated with job satisfaction
and school climate has less influence on job satisfaction in private sector school of
Bahawalpur Pakistan.
 Van (2016) concluded in his study that teachers’ perception of participation in decision
making may predict their sense of efficiency and job satisfaction.
 Menon, Papanastasiou & Zembylas (2008) found week link between salary and job
satisfaction.
 Padma, S. and Reddy, M. Sudhir, (2014) found work-life balance is as a predictor of job
satisfaction.

4. Methodology:
Population:
Male and female teachers of Secondary schools in Hyderabad.
Sampling:
From above population, 305 teachers were selected from access
population through random stratified sampling technique.
Data Collection:
Survey method
Questionnaire instrument comprising five point Likert scale.
Chron Batch’s Alpha was used for instrument reliability (0.89)

5. Data Analysis
SSPS-22 as Statistical software
Non Parametric tests
Chi-Square and percentages were used to make item-wise
analysis of the questionnaire
Parametric tests
Regression to measures relationship between variables
T-test to identify difference between male and female
teachers

6. Findings
 There was a very strong correlation between work-
life-balance and Job Satisfaction level of teachers
 There was a very strong correlation between
administrative support and Job Satisfaction level of
teachers
 Salary and teacher-input were not significantly
correlated to job satisfaction level of teachers.
 There was no significant difference between male
and female teachers in this regard.

7. Recommendation
 Education Department Government of Sindh should take
care of variables which influence job satisfaction lever
teachers and ensure that teachers should get more
support from administration and be the part of school
based decision making process.
 Teachers’ salary and social status should be made higher
than other department because satisfied teachers can
produce better officers.
