Evidence of constructing film magazine

1. My film magazine was inspired by Movie Maker and Sight & sound magazine. The colour scheme of the
Movie maker magazine helped to construct my own magazine. Having a black background for my
magazine would make the image stand out alongside the text around the image, which was also inspired
by the movie maker. The Sight & sound magazine has inspired the shot of the image, as it’s a close mid
shot of the image facing her back towards the camera and her head is turned halfway. This allows the
audience to connect with the model as her character, as her facial expression is the same.

2. Construction
I picked my desired image and had removed the background
using the background magic eraser tool, I had changed my
background colour in a charcoal grey to make the image and
text stand out. Also, used an eraser tool to remove some of the
masthead from the image.
I included the conventional features of a magazine such as a barcode, skyline, banner, multiple sell lines relating to the film
industry with the use of stylising features. I also made sure to include the date of the magazine, so the audience will know
when the magazine has been published.
