have lear nt a var iet y of impor t ant t hings. I r ealized t hat alignment of cover -lines and t easer s
wer e impor t ant int o maint aining a pr of essional look t o t he magazine f r ont cover inst ead of
looking cheap and dull, f or inst ance – t he college magazine. Also, t he lengt h of t he cover lines and
t easer s dr ew f ine lines bet ween pr of essionalism and amat eur . I f ound t hat on magazines I
analysed, t he cover lines wer e much shor t er t han I had expect ed af t er pr oducing t he college
magazine. Af t er r ef er r ing back t o my pr eliminar y evaluat ion, I saw t hat I needed t o cont inue
wor king on layout of images and f r ont – cover lines, mast heads et c. I t t ook some t ime choosing an
appr opr iat e f ont f or my f inal media pr oduct as many clashed wit h my genr e of music or didn’t f it
well wit h t he colour scheme. W hilst wit h my college magazine I chose any f ont t hat I t hought
looked appealing t o myself , r at her t han t he audience so I had t o ensur e t hat my f inal pr oduct
was appealing t o bot h myself and my t ar get audience. The second point t hat I t hink I had
impr oved on and which was a f ocus point in my evaluat ion was t o ensur e t hat colour scheme of
t he house st yles was appr opr iat e. For my music magazine, I chose a simplist ic st yle such as r ed
and black as t he colour s suit t oget her but , I t hought of no ot her r easons t o t he colour scheme
wher eas on my f inal pr oduct , I t hought har d about t he colour s t hat I used t o por t r ay my cer t ain
audience and t o r ef lect t he nat ion and t he t ype of genr e t he magazine highlight ed.
