1. The snow goose
Title, author and genre: the title of the book is snow goose the author is Paul
Gallico’s and the genre is fiction.
What was the book about: Philip, a hunchback and artist, lives in an
abandoned lighthouse, all alone except for the flocks of geese that migrate
during the cold winter months. Then one day, a young girl from the local village
brings him a snow goose wounded by a gunshot which he knows is very rare
where he is.
How did I feel about the book: well I know that I enjoyed it very much because
it was a very thrilling story though also a bit sad and adventurous and actually
it didn’t look very interesting on the front but if my dad hadn’t got me into it I
would of never read it.
What was my favourite part and why: my favourite part was when the girl
becomes the first friend from the hunchback and helps him cure the geese I
find this is my favourite part because it is a very nice part in the book and very
touching.
What was the main idea and theme: I think the main idea is that no matter
how ugly you look on the outside doesn’t mean that you are a bad person on
the inside it means that you are a very nice person and care about everyone
and everything around them.
Recommendation of the book: I think this book if for anyone who is interested
in adventure books and also books about animals and also a nice and short
book.
Have you read anything similar: yes I have read something similar and it was
from the same author and it is calls the small miracle and in fact it is in the
same book because there are two books joined onto one so you can choose
what one you want to read, and I would also recommend this one to people
who like animals very thrilling stories.
What did you think of the characters: well my favourite character in this book
would have to be Philip the hunchback because he is a very nice person and I
know this because he travelled in a small boat to save soldiers and didn’t give
2. up even if it did kill him, also because he took love and caring for the animals
and made sure that they were better before he could let them go.
The setting of the book: well I know it wasn’t in New Zealand because of the
words in the book some of them are Scottish words and that tells me it is in
Scotland.
Did the story have a good ending: yes it did though it was very sad but I can’t
tell you so if you like the sounds of it pick it up and read it!!!
Who showed me the book: my fabulous dad!!!!!
