3. High angle shots:
This gives my audience more power; by
doing this they feel “empowered” and
You can use it to create a sense of
smallness in the subject or to show that
the audience has a sense of looking over
the subjects from a superior position.
4. Medium long shot:
By using a medium shot; my audience
are able to see the characters body
language and costume as well as their
facial expression
5. Low angle shot:
Medium long shot
With this shot, you can still see expression
on the persons face, while getting more
information from what is going on around
the person.
A low angle shot, or worm's eye
view, can be used to make a
subject look bigger than it is.
6. Reasons for shot types
• I tried to avoid using any close up shots or any extreme close up
shots because they create any intimate and personal relationship
between the audience and the subject/artist. This is because; I
seemed to have contently empower the readers, I wanted to
maintain this, by using low, high and medium shots.
• I also avoided using close up shots because I noticed that RnB and
soul magazines seemed to use more close ups.
These magazines seem
to use close ups to
express emotions.
However, high shots
and medium shots
would show both
emotions, body
language and props
used in the image.
