• Mindset of most processors who think ground drying is better than platform drying.
• Land allocation for erecting raised platforms and self-ownership mentality.
• Low demand for safer and quality fish in informal markets due to high price.
• Identification and availability of ready markets/up-taker.
• Costly and cumbersome product registration procedures with regulatory agencies to break into formal
markets.

• Efforts must be made to remove all bottle necks associated with hygienic small fish production.
• Intensify awareness on the nutritional value of small fish to boost its consumption.
