2. One of the objectives of Machine Learning Project was short
extension videos production and dissemination
• Since new technologies and practices developed by
innovative farmers and supply chain actors often go
unrecognized, and diffuse more gradually than they would
do if promoted actively by formal extension agents.
• At the same time, digital dissemination technologies are
undergoing a revolution.
BACKGROUND
3. EMERGING METHODS OF SCIENTIFIC COMMUNICATION
“It's time for researchers in science to take network
collaboration like this to the next phase and reap the
potential intellectual and societal payoffs”--
Ben Shneiderman
Science 2.0 applies collaborative tools
like wikis, blogs and video journals to
share findings, raw data and "nascent
theories" online
Science 2.0 is a suggested new
approach to science that uses
information-sharing and
collaboration made possible by
network technologies

4. • During questionnaire survey – as we have
seen in the previous presentation, we have
identified the technologies and practices
• Several field visits we have made to identify the
local technologies and practices.
• Meeting with the farmers/stakeholders in the
field
VIDEO PRODUCTION PROCESS
5. • Contacted the stakeholders before going to the
field
• Taking permission for filming, we have given
the them some suggestions to tell the story
about his/her practices
• Taken footages form different angels/points of
view as much as possible
VIDEO PRODUCTION PROCESS
6. • Tried to ensure the quality of video and audio
VIDEO PRODUCTION PROCESS
7. • Writing scripts in Bangla and English
embracing the farmers narratives
• Shared the scripts within our research team to
correct it properly and make it shorter- closed
to 2 minutes
• Added information in the graphical and tabular
form wherever, necessary

22. TAKE HOME MESSAGES
• There are growing aquaculture technologies and practices emerging in the
fields, which are useful and transferable for one region to another
• It was found that profit generating and problem solving technologies and
practices are highly viewed
• Viewers prefer the videos to watch more such intensive land used for
integrated farming and sludge removal from the pond.
• This practice of video production will be continued even after the project –
to communicate stakeholders from my side
