1. Engineering BOM - used for design purpose. BOM usage is 2.
The EBOM includes all the components of the product and their
technical data from design point of view. It is not linked to any
order.
Production BOM, on the other hand includes all the items required
from the production perspective. Relevant for MRP planning.
We can convert the engineering BOM to material BOM by using
copy as from engineering BOM to production BOM in CS01.
revision level
structure level,
part number,
revision level,
quantity required,
unit of measure,
description, and
make or buy indicator.
BOMs can be enhanced to include costing information
by including labor and material costs in each lower level component and
adding these costs from the bottom to the parent level.
ECM : Used to track and control all the changes wrt to Material master,
BOM, Routing.
ECM Control Data - OS54
Change master number ranges - OS53
Define revision levels - OS55
Define modification parameters for BOM - OS27

BOM creation: Material, plant, BOM Usage, Revision level, change number, valid
from
Routing: Material, plant, revision level, change number, valid from
Steps followed for creating and changing the master data:
Create change number(CC01); ECR - CC31
Assign change number to Material (CC11) with initial revision level
Create BOM (CS01) and Routing (CA01) with revision level
Create new change number with different validity date (CC01) and assign to
material with new revision level (CC11)
Display revision levels (CC12)
Change BOM(CS02) and Routing with new revision level (CA02)
AGILE is the system of record for master data like Material master, BOM.
Any changes to these master data are done through BOM interface (ECO)
Only BOM items that are part of specific ECO & MCO are interfaced from Agile PLM
to SAP ECC
Transformation of agile BOM data to ECC happens in SAP PI.Field mappings are
necessary.
ECR -> Approved = ECO -> mapped to SAP ECC change number
