This document provides an overview of the current status of the development of ISO 45001 Occupational health and safety management systems. It summarizes that the first draft received 71% approval, insufficient for publication. Key issues from comments included legal requirements, terminology, and clause structures. A second draft will be prepared to address comments, with the goal of publication by November if an additional approval ballot is held, or by June without further ballots. Timelines and options considered were also outlined.

Result of ballot on ISODIS 45001

๏ง 71% voted in favour but this was insufficient to secure
the necessary vote to proceed to FDIS

Options considered
1. Prepare a second DIS (DIS 2)
2. Publish the draft as a Technical Specification (TS)
(note that a vote for moving to TS only needed 66% in favour)
3. Going back a stage to Committee Draft was not
considered a viable option
It was decided to prepare DIS2 to address the volume of
comments and the issues raised.
