11 God judgeth the righteous, and
God is angry with the wicked every
day.

is Christ the Lord.
Luke 2:14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward
men.
Rom 5:9 Much more then, being now justified by
his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through

2Cor 5:18 And all things are of God, who hath
reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath
given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the
word of reconciliation.
Eph 2:14 For he is our peace, who hath made both
one, and hath broken down the middle wall of
partition between us;
Eph 2:17 And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to
them that were nigh.
Col 1:20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to
reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in
earth, or things in heaven.

Rom 3:25 Whom God hath set forth to be a
propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare
his righteousness for the remission of sins that are
past, through the forbearance of God;

have peace with God through our Lord Jesus

Jer 3:13 Only acknowledge thine iniquity, that
thou hast transgressed against the LORD thy God,
and hast scattered thy ways to the strangers under
every green tree, and ye have not obeyed my voice,
saith the LORD.
Jer 18:7 At what instant I shall speak concerning a
nation, and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, and
to pull down, and to destroy it;
Jer 18:8 If that nation, against whom I have
pronounced, turn from their evil, I will repent of the
evil that I thought to do unto them.
Jer 31:18-20 18 I have surely heard Ephraim bemoaning himself thus; Thou
hast chastised me, and I was chastised, as a bullock unaccustomed to the
yoke: turn thou me, and I shall be turned; for thou art the LORD my God. 19
Surely after that I was turned, I repented; and after that I was instructed, I
smote upon my thigh: I was ashamed, yea, even confounded, because I did
bear the reproach of my youth. 20 Is Ephraim my dear son? is he a pleasant

therefore my bowels are troubled for him; I will surely have mercy upon him,
saith the LORD.
Joel 2:12-14 12 Therefore also now, saith the LORD, turn ye even to me with
all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning: 13 And
rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God:
for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and
repenteth him of the evil. 14 Who knoweth if he will return and repent, and
leave a blessing behind him; even a meat offering and a drink offering unto the
LORD your God?
Luke 15:18-20 18 I will arise and go to my father,
and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned
against heaven, and before thee, 19 And am no
more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of
thy hired servants. 20 And he arose, and came to
his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his
father saw him, and had compassion, and ran,
and fell on his neck, and kissed him.
• Is slow
Ps 103:8 The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow
to anger, and plenteous in mercy.
Isa 48:9 For my name's sake will I defer mine
anger, and for my praise will I refrain for thee, that I
cut thee not off.

6. Jonah 4:2 And he prayed unto the LORD, and said,
I pray thee, O LORD, was not this my saying, when
I was yet in my country? Therefore I fled before unto
Tarshish: for I knew that thou art a gracious God,
and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness,
and repentest thee of the evil.
Nah 1:3 The LORD is slow to anger, and great in
power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the
LORD hath his way in the whirlwind and in the
storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.
• Is righteous
Ps 58:10 The righteous shall rejoice when he seeth the vengeance: he shall
wash his feet in the blood of the wicked.
Ps 58:11 So that a man shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous:
verily he is a God that judgeth in the earth.
Lam 1:18 The LORD is righteous; for I have rebelled against his
commandment: hear, I pray you, all people, and behold my sorrow: my virgins
and my young men are gone into captivity.
Rom 2:6 Who will render to every man according
to his deeds:
Rom 2:8 But unto them that are contentious, and
do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness,
indignation and wrath,

7. Rom 3:5 But if our unrighteousness commend the
righteousness of God, what shall we say? Is God
unrighteous who taketh vengeance? (I speak as a
man)
Rom 3:6 God forbid: for then how shall God judge
the world?
Rev 16:6 For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast
given them blood to drink; for they are worthy.
Rev 16:7 And I heard another out of the altar say,
Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous
are thy judgments.
• Is not to be questioned
Rom 9:18 Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he
will he hardeneth.
Rom 9:20 Nay but, O man, who art thou that
repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say
to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me
thus?
Rom 9:22 What if God, willing to shew his wrath,
and to make his power known, endured with much
longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to
destruction:

Exod 14:24 And it came to pass, that in the
morning watch the LORD looked unto the host of
the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and of the
cloud, and troubled the host of the Egyptians,
Ps 76:6-8 6 At thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, both
the chariot and horse are cast into a dead sleep.
7 Thou, even thou, art to be feared: and who may
stand in thy sight when once thou art angry? 8
Thou didst cause judgment to be heard from
heaven; the earth feared, and was still,
Jer 10:10 But the LORD is the true God, he is the
living God, and an everlasting king: at his wrath
the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not
be able to abide his indignation.
Lam 2:20-22 20 Behold, O LORD, and consider to whom thou hast done this.
Shall the women eat their fruit, and children of a span long? shall the priest
and the prophet be slain in the sanctuary of the Lord? 21 The young and the
old lie on the ground in the streets: my virgins and my young men are fallen by
the sword; thou hast slain them in the day of thine anger; thou hast killed, and
not pitied. 22 Thou hast called as in a solemn day my terrors round about, so
that in the day of the LORD'S anger none escaped nor remained: those that I
have swaddled and brought up hath mine enemy consumed.

9. • Manifested in afflictions
Job 21:17 How oft is the candle of the wicked put
out! and how oft cometh their destruction upon
them! God distributeth sorrows in his anger.
Ps 78:49-51 49 He cast upon them the
fierceness of his anger, wrath, and indignation,
and trouble, by sending evil angels among them.
50 He made a way to his anger; he spared not
their soul from death, but gave their life over to the
pestilence; 51 And smote all the firstborn in Egypt;
the chief of their strength in the tabernacles of Ham:
Ps 90:7 For we are consumed by thine anger, and
by thy wrath are we troubled.
Isa 9:19 Through the wrath of the LORD of hosts is the land darkened, and
the people shall be as the fuel of the fire: no man shall spare his brother.
Jer 7:20 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, mine anger and my fury
shall be poured out upon this place, upon man, and upon beast, and upon the
trees of the field, and upon the fruit of the ground; and it shall burn, and shall
not be quenched.
Ezek 7:19 They shall cast their silver in the streets, and their gold shall be
removed: their silver and their gold shall not be able to deliver them in the day
of the wrath of the LORD: they shall not satisfy their souls, neither fill their
bowels: because it is the stumblingblock of their iniquity.
Heb 3:17 But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that
had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness?

10. • Cannot be resisted
Job 9:13 If God will not withdraw his anger, the
proud helpers do stoop under him.
Job 14:13 O that thou wouldest hide me in the grave, that thou wouldest keep
me secret, until thy wrath be past, that thou wouldest appoint me a set time,
and remember me!
Ps 76:7 Thou, even thou, art to be feared: and who
may stand in thy sight when once thou art
angry?
Nah 1:6 Who can stand before his indignation?
and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger?
his fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are
thrown down by him.
• Aggravated by continual provocation
Num 32:14 And, behold, ye are risen up in your
fathers' stead, an increase of sinful men, to
augment yet the fierce anger of the LORD toward
Israel.

11. Zeph 1:14-18 14 The great day of the LORD is near, it is near, and hasteth
greatly, even the voice of the day of the LORD: the mighty man shall cry there
bitterly. 15 That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of
wasteness and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds
and thick darkness, 16 A day of the trumpet and alarm against the fenced
cities, and against the high towers. 17 And I will bring distress upon men, that
they shall walk like blind men, because they have sinned against the LORD:
and their blood shall be poured out as dust, and their flesh as the dung. 18
Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the
LORD'S wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of his jealousy:
for he shall make even a speedy riddance of all them that dwell in the land.
Matt 25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from
me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
Rom 2:5 But after thy hardness and impenitent
heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the
day of wrath and revelation of the righteous
judgment of God;
2Thess 1:8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on
them that know not God, and that obey not the
gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
Rev 6:17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to
stand?
Rev 11:18 And the nations were angry, and thy
wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they
should be judged, and that thou shouldest give
reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the
saints, and them that fear thy name, small and
great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy
the earth.

12. Rev 19:15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp
sword, that with it he should smite the nations:
and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he
treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath
of Almighty God.

Ps 21:8 Thine hand shall find out all thine enemies: thy right hand shall find
out those that hate thee.
Ps 21:9 Thou shalt make them as a fiery oven in
the time of thine anger: the LORD shall swallow
them up in his wrath, and the fire shall devour
them.
Isa 3:8 For Jerusalem is ruined, and Judah is fallen: because their tongue and
their doings are against the LORD, to provoke the eyes of his glory.
Isa 13:9 Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, cruel
both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land
desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof
out of it.

13. Nah 1:2 God is jealous, and the LORD revengeth; the LORD revengeth, and is
furious; the LORD will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth
wrath for his enemies.
Nah 1:3 The LORD is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all
acquit the wicked: the LORD hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm,
and the clouds are the dust of his feet.
Rom 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from
heaven against all ungodliness and
unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in
unrighteousness;

cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.

Ezra 8:22 For I was ashamed to require of the king a band of soldiers and
horsemen to help us against the enemy in the way: because we had spoken
unto the king, saying, The hand of our God is upon all them for good that seek
him; but his power and his wrath is against all them that forsake him.
Isa 1:4 Ah sinful nation, a people laden with
iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that are
corrupters: they have forsaken the LORD, they

they are gone away backward.
- Unbelief
Ps 78:21 Therefore the LORD heard this, and was
wroth: so a fire was kindled against Jacob, and
anger also came up against Israel;
Ps 78:22 Because they believed not in God, and
trusted not in his salvation:
Heb 3:18 And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but
to them that believed not?
Heb 3:19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.
- Apostasy
Heb 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have
received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth
no more sacrifice for sins,
Heb 10:27 But a certain fearful looking for of
judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour
the adversaries.

15. Deut 29:20 The LORD will not spare him, but then
the anger of the LORD and his jealousy shall
smoke against that man, and all the curses that are
written in this book shall lie upon him, and the
LORD shall blot out his name from under heaven.
Deut 29:27 And the anger of the LORD was kindled against this land, to bring
upon it all the curses that are written in this book:
Deut 29:28 And the LORD rooted them out of their land in anger, and in
wrath, and in great indignation, and cast them into another land, as it is this
day.
Deut 32:19 And when the LORD saw it, he abhorred them, because of the
provoking of his sons, and of his daughters.
Deut 32:20 And he said, I will hide my face from them, I will see what their
end shall be: for they are a very froward generation, children in whom is no
faith.
Deut 32:22 For a fire is kindled in mine anger,
and shall burn unto the lowest hell, and shall
consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire
the foundations of the mountains.
Josh 23:16 When ye have transgressed the
covenant of the LORD your God, which he
commanded you, and have gone and served other
gods, and bowed yourselves to them; then shall the
anger of the LORD be kindled against you, and ye
shall perish quickly from off the good land which he
hath given unto you.
2Kgs 22:17 Because they have forsaken me, and
have burned incense unto other gods, that they

their hands; therefore my wrath shall be kindled
against this place, and shall not be quenched.

17. Isa 47:6 I was wroth with my people, I have

Ps 2:2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and
the rulers take counsel together, against the
LORD, and against his anointed, saying,

away their cords from us.

and vex them in his sore displeasure.
1Thess 2:16 Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles
that they might be saved, to fill up their sins alway:
for the wrath is come upon them to the
uttermost.

18. Jer 7:19 Do they provoke me to anger? saith the
LORD: do they not provoke themselves to the
confusion of their own faces?
1Cor 10:22 Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are
we stronger than he?

Ps 2:12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye
perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled
but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust
in him.

Ps 90:11 Who knoweth the power of thine anger? even according to thy fear,
so is thy wrath.
Matt 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body,
but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him
which is able to destroy both soul and body in

Dan 9:16 O Lord, according to all thy
righteousness, I beseech thee, let thine anger and
thy fury be turned away from thy city Jerusalem,

are become a reproach to all that are about us.
Hab 3:2 O LORD, I have heard thy speech, and was
afraid: O LORD, revive thy work in the midst of the
years, in the midst of the years make known; in
wrath remember mercy.

2Sam 24:17 And David spake unto the LORD when
he saw the angel that smote the people, and said,
Lo, I have sinned, and I have done wickedly: but
these sheep, what have they done? let thine hand, I
pray thee, be against me, and against my father's
house.

20. Lam 3:39 Wherefore doth a living man complain, a
man for the punishment of his sins?
Lam 3:43 Thou hast covered with anger, and
persecuted us: thou hast slain, thou hast not pitied.
Mic 7:9 I will bear the indignation of the LORD,
because I have sinned against him, until he plead
my cause, and execute judgment for me: he will
bring me forth to the light, and I shall behold his

Isa 42:24 Who gave Jacob for a spoil, and Israel to

hath set him on fire round about, yet he knew not;
and it burned him, yet he laid it not to heart.
Jer 4:8 For this gird you with sackcloth, lament and
howl: for the fierce anger of the LORD is not turned
back from us.

Gen 7:21-23 21 And all flesh died that moved upon

died. 23 And every living substance was destroyed
which was upon the face of the ground, both man,
and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of
the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth:
and Noah only remained alive, and they that were
with him in the ark.

1Sam 5:6 But the hand of the LORD was heavy

against Israel: but the LORD thundered with a great
