1 There was a certain man in Caesarea calledCornelius, a centurion of the

2 A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave
much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway.
A heart seeking God is the start
Eccl 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God,
and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
Prov 18:1-2 1 Through desire a man, having separatedhimself,
seeketh and intermeddleth with all wisdom.
2 A fool hath no delight in understanding, but that his heart may

2. 3 He saw in a vision evidently about the ninth hour of the day an angel of
God coming in to him, and saying unto him, Cornelius.
Acts 3:1 Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at
the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour.
4 And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord?
And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a
memorial before God.
5 And now send men to Joppa, and call for one Simon, whose surname is
Peter:
6 He lodgeth with one Simon a tanner, whose house is by the sea side: he
shall tell thee what thou oughtest to do.
7 And when the angel which spake unto Cornelius was departed, he called
two of his householdservants, and a devout soldier of them that waited on
him continually;

Acts 10:42-43 42 And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and
to testify that it is he which was ordainedof God to be the Judge of quick
and dead.
43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name
whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.
Rom 10:2-3 2 For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God,
but not accordingto knowledge.
3. 3 For they being ignorantof God's righteousness, and going about to
establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves
unto the righteousness of God.
Rom 5:19 For as by one man's disobedience manywere made
sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
2Cor 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin;
that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

A. Don’t doubt God’s word
Acts 10:14-15 14 But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any
thing that is common or unclean.
15 And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath
cleansed, that call not thou common.
17 Now while Peter doubted in himself what this vision which he had seen
should mean, behold, the men which were sent from Cornelius hadmade
enquiryfor Simon's house, and stood before the gate,
19-20 19 While Peter thought on the vision, the Spiritsaid unto him,
Behold, three men seek thee. 20 Arise therefore, and get thee down, and
go with them, doubting nothing: for I have sent them.
B. Don’t steal God’s glory
Acts 10:25-26 25 And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and fell
down at his feet, and worshipped him. 26 But Peter took him up, saying,
Stand up; I myself also am a man.
4. 37 That word, I say, ye know, which was publishedthroughoutall Judaea,
and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached;

Acts 11:19 Now they which were scattered abroadupon the persecution
that arose about Stephen travelledas far as Phenice, and Cyprus, and
Antioch, preaching the word to none but unto the Jews only.
Acts 10:23 Then calledhe them in, and lodged them. And on the morrow
Peter went away with them, and certain brethren from Joppa accompanied
him.
Acts 10:24 And the morrow after they entered into Caesarea. And
Cornelius waitedfor them, and had calledtogether his kinsmen and near
friends.
Acts 10:39 And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the
land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whomthey slew and hanged on a tree:
Acts 10:45 And they of the circumcisionwhich believedwere astonished,
as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured
out the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Acts 10:46 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnifyGod.
Then answeredPeter,
Acts 11:12 And the Spirit bade me go with them, nothingdoubting.
Moreover these six brethren accompanied me, and we entered into the
man's house:

the Gentiles to live as do the Jews?
