5. INTRODUCTION
• In man digestive system consist of
alimentary canal and associated glands.
• During digestion various chemical reactions
takes place.
• With the help of this reaction food particles
are divided in to small particles.
6. Mouth
• Mouth is a transverse slit like aperture.
• The teeth masticate food.
• Acts as a surface for enzyme action.
7. Salivary Gland
• Secretion in saliva by salivary gland.
• Saliva is a digestive enzyme.
• It converts starch in to maltose.
8. Oesophagus
• Oesophagus is a narrow mascular tube.
• Food particles moves toward by peristalsis.
• It leads in to stomach.
9. Stomach
• It is a thick mascular bag.
• It converts food in to paste.
• It produces gastric juice and hydrochloric
acid.
10. Pancreas
• Pancreas produce pancreatic juice.
• Pancreatic juice contain trypsin amylase
and lipase.
• Pancreatic juice helps in digestion.
11. Small Intestine
• Small intestine produce intestinal juice.
• It absorbs digestive food in to the blood.
• It is a long highly coiled narrow tube.
12. Large Intestine
• It absorb water from the blood.
• It is shorter and much wider than small
intestine.
• It extend from ileum to the anus.
13. Rectum
• It store undigested food btemporarily.
• Pelvic colon continues in to rectum.
• Rectum opens out by anus.
14. CONCLUSION
• Man has well developed digestive system.
• It starts from mouth and ends in to anus.
• Various organs and glands are involved in
this process.
