1. Difference Between Laptop And Notebook
Apparently, most people seem to consider laptop and notebook are the same
things, abandon the fact that there is a difference between laptop and notebook. To
cut a long story short, both laptop and notebook are classified into portable
computers but it is just a matter of terms used to call both devices. Briefly, laptop
is an old version of notebook. When it comes to laptop, the term heavy or big kind
of suits the definition of a laptop. Meanwhile, notebook is smaller and more
portable than laptop. For that reason, the main difference between laptop and
notebook is their size and portability.
Both laptop and notebook are portable computers which have many things in
common. However, there is a difference between laptop and notebook that separate
both devices. Laptop is a portable computer which offers a lot more built-in
features than notebook. In the other words, laptop is generally heavier than
notebook which is basically smaller and lighter. The average screen size of a
laptop is 14 – 17 inches widescreen. In the mean time, the average screen size of a
notebook is 12 – 14 inches widescreen. The difference between laptop and
notebook is it depends on your needs; which means that if you are on-the-go
person, you can choose the more portable one, notebook.

board. The difference between laptop and notebook key board is that notebook’s
key board is considerably smaller than laptop’s. However, the notebook key board
is still comfortable to your working needs and internet needs. Laptop and notebook
have the same capability to connect to the internet connection. Both devices can
connect to wired-internet connection and connect to wireless internet connection
because laptop and notebook are powered by their processors for wireless
connection. Thus, in terms of internet connection, there is no particular difference
between laptop and notebook.
The basic difference between laptop and notebook features is that notebook lacks
of internal floppy disks. While laptop provides more USB slots, notebook doesn’t.
Other than that, dissimilar to laptop, notebook is not equipped with CD and DVD
drives. If you use a laptop, you can watch a video by using CD or DVD drive. In
the meantime, you cannot play your CD/DVD in built-in CD or DVD drive like in
laptop unless you buy an external CD/DVD drive or player which can be
connected to your notebook. That is the most visible difference between laptop and
notebook. Due to its lighter and smaller size, notebook lacks of internal features.
Another difference between laptop and notebook is their battery power. Well,
speaking of battery power, it actually depends on the usage. But notebook is
apparently has more battery power due to its lack of internal CD and DVD drive.
While laptop has approximately 3 hours battery life, notebook has 4 -5 hours
battery life. It has to be emphasized that the battery life depends on how often you
use the portable computers, laptop or notebook. Both devices can also be plugged

more suitable for those who work outside where outlet is not available.
Despite of these differences between laptop and notebook, the both devices are
likely synonymous. Laptop and notebook are designed as portable computers
which are suitable in daily basis especially for those who work where mobility is
highly required. Both devices can replace the role of home computer or we can call
it desktop. Regarding the features equipped in both devices, another difference
between laptop and notebook is their price. Laptop is considerably more expensive
than notebook because it has a better processor and it is equipped with more
internal or built-in features.
