Old Man Santiago Chapter 1 Summary
Old Man– Santiago frequently tells us that he respects and loves the fish, even though he remains prepared to kill it. He even goes as far to say that
the marlin is his brother. Rather than seeing the fish as a meal on a hook, he draws connections to himself and to the fish out of respect and awe. The
old man thinks of nature and humanity as a whole instead of thinking that he is separate from nature. He feels as connected to the sea, and to the fish, as
he does to the boy. Though he does not let his sense of unity come between his drive to kill the marlin, his respect for the lives in the sea manifest
through his tendency to only eat what he needs. He feels a connection to the nature around him, and losing his catch does not lessen his love for the
sea or the creatures within. The fish was a worthy opponent. It never belonged to him just as a brother cannot belong to a brother. They are equally
insignificant in the grand scheme of things, and the old man accepts the fact that the sea can take what it gives without resenting it, as it is the nature
of the ocean.
Emerson and Thoreau– Emerson emphasizes that all men must be ranked under nature. He understands that humans are just ... Show more content on

Even though the clip is a cartoon made for entertainment, it has truth. Global warming gets worse every year, and political leaders do not take
appropriate measures to reduce the greenhouse gases that are released into the atmosphere each year. Even though we are all affected by the
increasing heat, many people would rather use a ton of energy than try to conserve the limited resources we have. An inconvenient truth shows how
people tend to put themselves before nature, and that we view ourselves as separate from animals and nature. Maybe if we acknowledged our
connection to the whole world, we would try harder to protect and preserve our

Success In Norman Rockwell's Painting 'The Catch'
What does one need to be happy? Is it a nice car? Maybe it's a new pair of shoes? What about success? What defines success and what does one
need to be successful? The truth is, it depends on one's definition. Success can be defined in different ways. Success could be defined as being
financially stable, or it could be something as simple as feeling accomplished with achieved goals. Norman Rockwell's painting "The Catch" offers
refreshing ideas on what it means to be happy and what one needs to be successful.
At first glance, Rockwell's painting illustrates a successful day of fishing for three young friends, all of whom have their catch for the day strung in
one hand and their fishing gear in the other. Out of the three boys in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Rockwell's painting suggests the idea that money is not a determining factor in happiness.
Upon further examination of Rockwell's portrait, the viewer starts to notice the smaller details and "tons of interesting objects" that are only noticed
after examining the painting multiple times (Venezia, 31). One starts to notice the smaller details, such as quality of the boys' clothes and what they
are carrying. The happier boys lack pairs of shoes and have an abundance of holes in their clothing. The somber looking boy has a clean white shirt
tucked into pants, a bow around his collar, and expensive looking fishing gear. After noting the appearance of all three boys, the viewer's eyes are
drawn to the fish that the upscale boy is carrying. His one and only fish is small–not even half the size of any of the fish the other boys caught. The
clean–cut boy in the center is unhappy and only has one measly fish to show for the day's work. Meanwhile, the two underdressed boys are both
carrying multiple fish of decent size in their hands. It is surprising that the boy with expensive fishing gear only has one small fish. Upon first glance,
one would assume that the well–dressed boy would have been the most prosperous in catching the most fish. He has the most suitable fishing gear, but
he did not end up being the most fortunate when it came to catching fish. Wallace Wattles, an American author who played a part in the self

Guide To Fishing Research Paper
The How to Guide to Fishing The possibilities of getting lost in the woods or some other remote area is very slim. However, if it were to happen to
you, would you know how to catch you own food to survive? Or in a lighter sense, do you need a hobby or maybe just something to pass the time
away? Fishing is the solution to all of your problems. Going fishing can also be extremely difficult and flabbergasting at times. You have to know the
right bait to use, how to rig your rod, and how to fish at the location you're at. Before you can just go throwing a line into any pond or lake, there's a
whole mess of things you need to learn about. To get started you're going to need something to catch fish with. Standard rods and reels come together at

Most open–faced rods come with line already wrapped but in the case that it is not wrap it around the base making sure it is underneath the
unlocked reel and reel until all the line comes out, then simply run the line through the holes that line the rod. Once you've done this lock the reel
back and place a weight through the end of the line and hold it there until you can get a hook. Tie the hook to the end of your line and you're ready
to apply your bait. Crickets and worms are applied by running the hook from the head of their body to the end. In the case of live bait put the hook
through the tail or gills for best results. Any other type of bait works fine as long as the hook is hidden inside the bait. Most artificial baits come with
instructions on how to apply it to the hook as most of them are extremely different. To cast an open–faced rod, make sure you hold the line while
unlocking the reel, and release the line when you go to cast. On a push button rod hold the button down until you cast and release just like an
open–face. To get the best results it is good to practice this motion with a rubber hook before you go on your

Research Paper About Fishing
Have you ever been fishing? I have! Fishing is one of my favorite things to do at this stage in my life. I have only recently got into fishing. I'm going
to talk about how, why, and when I started this hobby. Also if you're interested in trying fishing I'll tell you what you can do to give it a try for
yourself. Just like everything it has its ups and downs, but I hope this at least gets you interested in fishing like it did for me. You can never go wrong
trying something new and seeing if you like it. I haven't always been interested in fishing. When I was younger, I never enjoyed fishing because it
requires lots of patience's, which being the young, immature kid I was I didn't have any. As I got older I tried it more and more and started to fall in
love with it, at first I didn't take it seriously but started to practice and get better. I found myself fishing almost every day because there was no feeling
that could compare to a fish jumping on my line. I decided I wanted to try and compete with it. Anyone that knows me knows that if I want something
I will go for it, so that's what I did. I went to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

school team. We took off early in the morning and pulled up to our first fishing hole, the lake was like glass, and I could see my reflection in the
water. About five minutes into fishing my partner yells "FISH ON" and that was my sign to grab the net to make sure we got the fish in the boat.
I set my pole down on the back of the boat and grabbed the net. I sprinted to the front of the boat an as soon as I netted his fish, I turn around and
see my three hundred dollar pole shoot off the back of the boat in about 70 feet of Ozark lake water. Of course I was upset but I knew everything

Crappie Fishing Season
In most places, the "official" start of crappie fishing season is March 1st. However, because there are locations across the nation where large crappie
can be found at Christmas or in the middle of summer, many avid fishermen will go out for a catch at any time of year. The reason that crappiefishing
season is considered to begin in March is that crappie begins to spawn at this time of year. Therefore, the high point of the year to find great quantities
of large slabs is from the beginning of March to the end of April. The pre–spawn cycle where crappie is traveling to shallower waters for the laying of
eggs begins in March, and the spawning takes place in mid–April, and this cycle provides the greatest access to schools of crappie where you'll

Archerfish Chapter Summary
What fish studies in this chapter provide information about convergence and cognitive functioning?
One of the fish studies that provides evidence of convergence and cognitive functioning in fish, is Schuster studies on archerfish. Archerfish use a blast
of water from their mouths to hunt insects, and Shuster believes these archerfish are making complex intelligent decisions while doing so. Shuster
explains how the archerfish hunt, and how they cant hit targets out of water at very high speeds, but in many of Shusters experiments it was concluded
that the ability for an archerfish to shoot insects at full speed, and on an angle, was something they learned by watching other fish perform this task.
Social learning was very popular with the archerfish.

Will The Boy Choose The Girl Or The Fish?
Will the boy choose the girl or the fish. If he chooses the girl it could be because she is pretty. The boy explains how she is tan, has nice outfits and
nice hair. Another reason could be because he likes her. He mentions how he would do laps and keep on showing off in front of her. He also learned all
of her moods. The boy could also choose the fish. The fish is the biggest hes ever caught. The fish was bending the rod and the bass was going in
stronger currents and still pulled the canoe. The boy also spent a lot on fishing equipment. He had nice rods, expensive lures and he spent $40 dollars
on an outfit. I think that the boy will choose the fish.

Alaskan Fishing History
Fishing has been around for a really long time and there is more history that can be found concerning fishing, than there is the vast amount fish that are
in the ocean at any given minute. I might be stretching it a bit, but that sure is a lot of history! When you hear the word "fishing" tons and tons of
thoughts or imaginations might be going through your mind. Maybe you're thinking of all the good times you had with your family members catching
fish on a boat or how much you love for your favorite, tasty salmon salad to quench your watering mouth. I think of their terrible stench and how they

Fishers in the Atlantic Ocean seem to not care at all about the well being of the environment and they care more about the quick catch as I like to
call it. The quicker the catch the faster the cash is filling selfish, greedy fisher's pockets. They are willing to go to great lengths to get the fast
money regardless of the lasting damage they cause. It all comes down to their bad fishing techniques. Bottom trawling is a good example of this.
They make trawls with large rubber tires or rollers and they help for the net to move over the rocky regions and coral reefs of the ocean floor
(Fishing Problems: Destructive Fishing Practices.) These trawls literally destroy homes for fish and make it nearly impossible for them to recover
(Fishing Problems: Destructive Fishing Practices.) In fact, 4km of scars on the reefs of the north–east Atlantic Ocean have been found (Fishing
Problems: Destructive Fishing Practices.) Dynamite fishing is the next bad fishing technique used. Okay, let's just take a moment to think of how bad
"dynamite fishing" sounds in and of its self. I think we can all understand what type of damage this does not only to the sea life, but to the environment.
They literally kill all the fish and wait for them to float to the surface so they can easily scoop them up (Fishing Problems: Destructive Fishing
Practices.) They must not be thinking with any foresight because the destruction that fishing like

they are basically the same thing as any law enforcer.

Fishing is a worldwide sport loved by millions of people and the heart of many towns and communities around the world. One of only a few outdoor
activities that are open year long and one can go whenever he or she pleases. Fishing takes skill, patience and luck. Some people are known for their
luck of fishing and others for their skill. Over time, people become known for what they are good at, and what they are bad at, this applies to fishing
too. Everyone thinks of himself as 'that' guy, no matter what, there is always a way to classify every fisherman, from "Die Hards", "Know It Alls",
"Lucky Guy", "Unlucky Guy", the "Snag Master" or the "Rage Monster."
Everyone's goal is to catch the biggest fish, but some people want it to happen while others make it happen. The guys who make it happen are
known as the "Die Hards." These guys go out when everyone is inside, no matter the weather, and no matter the cost, they'll risk their boat for a fish.
They study and analyze the fish's every move, knowing when they spawn, how the water temperature affects them, and what time of day is the best to
go out. These guys are the real deal, they know everything about fishing. For example, Aaron Meyer is a musky guide in northern MN who guides
five to six days a week. When he isn't guiding, he's fishing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

caught the 30 pounder, but lost it. More importantly, the guy who actually catches the monster. Even though fisherman can be divided into many
groups, essentially it brings a group of people together for a wonderful and exciting time. This is what makes fishing such a great

Similarities Between Hunting And Fishing
Hunting and fishing have been around since there were people. Before people could go to the store and buy goods, they had to use what nature had
given them in order to survive. Today, hunting and fishing is not necessary for survival, but is rather enjoyable and a great excuse to get out and enjoy
God's beautiful country. Fishing is a great pass time; however, hunting is more worthwhile because of the wide variety of game, the endless options of
gear and equipment, the breathtaking locations, and the ability to target specific animals.
One of the main differences between hunting and fishing is the targeted game. Fishing refers to catching or trying to catch fish in the water for meat or
for sport, whereas hunting refers to killing or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They can not take a boat full of gear out to the deer stand. Hunters need less equipment than fishermen, which will save time and money.
The great thing about hunting and fishing is being outside in the many vast locations that are part of God's country. Few things are as peaceful as
watching the forest come alive or the sun rise over the treetops and reflect off of the flat calm lake. It is a beautiful experience. But as beautiful as the
sun rising off the lake is, it does not compare to the various other locations that hunting offers. While fishing, a person is always on the water, whether
that is on a river, lake or ocean. Hunting offers many options such as in the mountains in the West, the dry desert in the Southwest, the farm fields in
the Midwest, the swamps down South, and any place in between. These many options make hunting very diverse.
Unlike fishing, hunting offers the ability to target specific animals. When a person is fishing and a small fish or the wrong species is caught, they
can just throw it back. It is hard to do that with hunting, because the animal is already dead and not using it would be extremely wasteful. The upside
of not having the option of catch and release, is targeting a certain animal. While fishing, it cannot be controlled what type of fish or size is caught.
For example, a person may be crappie fishing. The person cannot be certain that they will catch a crappie every time. They may catch a sunfish or a

species changing throughout the years such as the largemouth bass but the crappie always appear to stay the same no matter what else changes.

Not only do they grow very large in this water but they are also plentiful. Early spring is the best time of year to fish for crappie and they will be

lake around bridges, brushpiles, stumps, coves, points, wood and other structures in the water.
Tips and Information for Catching Crappie in Texas
Crappie fishing is rather easy, which is why it is great for anglers of all skill levels. The main thing that you need to keep in mind is that to have the
most success you need to find the right depth where the crappie is located. Once you know the right depth you can have a lot of success reeling in the
fish.
One technique used to determine the depth of the crappie is called the crocheting. To use this method you drop the bait to the bottom and let it set for
a few minutes. Next you start reeling in the line slowly until you feel the crappie strike the bait. This is the depth where you need to fish. Timing your
drops is another method of learning how deep the crappies are

Why Fishing Should Be Considered A Sport
Why Fishing Should Be Considered A Sport Fishing should be considered a sport because it meets all four criteria that define a sport in the
Cambridge Dictionary. It states that a sport is a game or competition, a job that takes physical effort and skill and is played or done by following rules
between an opponent or the environment. The time it takes to become good at fishing is very comparable to that of the time it takes to become good
at another sport. While fishing may not be the first thing people think of as a sport, it has every aspect of one. While fishing is not the most
physically intensive sport, it still has an amazing potential to tire one out. There are several categories that differentiate a sport from other activities.
They are competitiveness, physicality, opponents, rules and regulations. One of the main attributes that defines a sport is the competition. Without
competition there is no sport. While fishing one could argue that there is a competition with the environment and, with the fish one is trying to catch.
The weather determines if it is even possible to go fishing, as there is no point in going when a front is passing because the fish will not bite readily.
Bright sunshine can even be one's enemy. The fish can see the anglers and the bait clearly. If they see the bait clearly, it could become obvious to them
that its movements are not lifelike. Wind can also be a detriment to casting the line. It makes it harder to drop the line where

then there is a forearm cast where you cast the line from the right side of your body if you are right handed, and then there is a backhand cast, where
you cast the opposite side as the forearm. There are also a few advanced casting techniques which are pitching and flipping. These techniques are

Some of these ways are the texas rig, drop shot rig, wacky rig, and the carolina rig. All of these bring a different look the the fish. First let's talk
about the texas rig, it is the most common of them all, it is also the most basic. The texas rig requires a bullet weight that slips on your line and
then you tie your hook on. After that you hook the plastic worm through the head and come back out after about two centimeters, you then hook
the worm again in the body, but make sure your hook does not come all the way through because you want it to be weedless and not get snagged
up (Neporadny, 102). The drop shot rig most people think is a very difficult way to fish but it is actually very easy. It has a few more steps than
other rigging techniques but it is a very good way to catch more fish. It starts out opposite of the texas rig, because you are tying on your hook first
and not your weight. While tying on your hook you want to leave anywhere from twelve to thirty inches of line after the hook is tied on. The
amount of extra line is based on how high you want your worm to be in the water. The extra line is where you tie on your weight and it makes it so
the worm is suspended in the water off of the bottom. The plastic worm is hooked the same way as a texas rig (Neporadny, 110). The wacky rig is a
very simple and effective way to catch fish. You can use any type of weight in this technique.

A True Fishing Tale Of Outdoor Toys
A True Fishing Tale I remember at a young age that I was obsessed with anything to do with the outdoors. When I was 5, I had an allotted 30 minutes
a night that I could use on the computer. Every night without knowing what I was actually doing, I would visit the Bass Pro Shops website looking at
camping gear, fishing gear, hunting gear, anything that they would list. I would discern the quality gear from the cheap stuff purely off of looks. I
had no idea what the difference between a large red spinner bait and the small yellow one was, but my favorite color was red so the former was
obviously of a better quality to me than the latter. One lucky day, I had the chance to visit the wonderful world of outdoor toys. I walked into that store

I'd been waiting for this day for all summer. I hadn't been able to fish since last year with my busy t–ball schedule and strictly enforced reading program.
This would also be my first time using my new spinner bait. As soon as I reached my great–grandmothers I was ready to hit the water and catch as
many monster fish as I could. Of course this was delusional as I had to go through the usual routine of family gatherings: hug the close relatives, say
hi to the distant ones, get offered food, tell them no, eat it anyway. All that I could think of during this process was that I was wasting my time
when I should be focused on catching this fish. At this point it was around noon, so now I had to wait until after lunch to start fishing. By 12:30 I
could practically feel the lake pulling me, wanting me to discover the creatures that lurked in its depths. I had to bargain with my mom that I
would eat more later so that I could finally start my quest. After a long negotiation I was able to grab my fishing pole from the car and get to work.
That day I had two fishing poles rigged in two different styles trying to catch two different kinds of fish. Pole number one was my favorite pole. I
put my new shiny red spinner bait on it and would make a couple of casts every minute or so. The second pole was for tiny fish that were easy to

Crappie–like most panfish–consume many different food sources including baitfish, zooplankton, insects, crustaceans and even the fry of their
predators. A productive way of fishing crappie is to nymph. I prefer using a non–bead head Prince Nymph to allow for the nymph to sink slowly. You
may also swap out the Prince Nymph for any bead head or non–bead head variation of a Mayfly Nymph, Hares Ear Nymph or mix it up and see what
works in your area. Crappie will feed up or out so you will need to use a strike indicator when nymphing for crappie. If you are unsure of the water
depth use an indicator which can be quickly adjusted. A Corkie, Thingamabobber or Airlock indicator can be easily moved up and down the leader
to adjust for depth. Try tying your nymph as a dropper under a foam fly. The foam fly will work as a strike indicator and will double your chances
of catching a crappie. Larger foam flies can support heavier nymphs, try to stick to something like a Chernobyl Ant, grass hopper or a mall to mid–size

Similarities Between Hunting And Hunting
Hunting and fishing have been around since the beginning of the world. Soon humans would come along and carry on the practice of surviving and
thriving this ancient way. Both hunting and fishing are skills that are still used today, but are not used so much as to survive but as a sport. What are
the similarities and differences between hunting? Well for those of the readers that have not participated in either events or do engage but have never
wondered about this question, hopefully this essay will answer all of your questions about the similarity and differences between hunting and fishing.
To be prosperous in both hunting and fishing one must be able to determine the location of the animal you are stalking. While hunting may be easier to
track the animal, fish can only move so much because they are stuck in a body of water. Both deer and bass prefer to stick in cover of bushes and fallen
trees. Both bass and deer ВЁbed" during the day; however bass like deer will occasionally move in daylight. Deer can arguably be easier to find
because of new technologies like scopes and rifles that can shoot at long ranges, but while bass fishing you are most of the time on a craft which is
sitting on top of the water giving you an advantage of being able to see through the it to see the fish swimming. There is also new technology that uses
sonar to map the bottom of the body of water and it can track fish movement. Both hunting and fishing require one to be able to read and

A kayak fishing camping trip is exciting, but make sure that you do all your research before diving in headfirst. This means checking whether
camping is allowed in the area you want to visit, what the best times of the year are for camping there and what the weather will be like during your
stay. As disappointing as it might be, it is better to cancel your trip if stormy weather is predicted instead of thinking of just braving it.

Personal Narrative: I Am A Competitive Fish
I am a competitive fisherman. I possess a skill very few people have. I have been fishing with my dad for as long as I can remember. When I was
just a little kid we would go to little ponds and fish from the bank, or we would take his Skeeter bass boat out on big lakes, such as Oneida Lake in
NY. A few years back my dad bought a little tin boat to take out on smaller lakes. Over the years we transformed the little tin boat into a make shift
bass boat. We installed a full front deck, front mounted trolling motor, and operating live wells. This past year my dad let me use the boat whenever I
had time. I took full advantage of this opportunity. Every chance I had I would be on a lake whether it was raining, snowing, or ninety degrees out, as

I fished a tournament on Lake Blytheburn with Lauren in the early summer. Out of the ten boats, only three teams weighed fish, including us. We won
the tournament, and we also weighed the biggest fish. I also joined the Lehigh Valley Junior Bassmasters this year, a club in the Allentown area for
high school students. We have several tournaments throughout the summer in Pennsylvania and Maryland. A little later in the summer my partner,
Matt Dolak, and I fished the High School Quad–State Championship Tournament on the Upper Chesapeake Bay. We drove to the Upper Chesapeake
Bay a few days prior to the tournament to practice. In our practices we worked on deciphering the fish. By that I mean we put in the time to see what
they are holding on, and then we put together a pattern to fish. On the day of the tournament we caught an outstanding 20.17 pounds and having a 5.22
pound bass for lunker. We won the entire tournament beating teams from PA, NJ, DE, and MD. We bested every other team by seven pounds. Since
we won the Quad–State tournament we qualify for the Northern Conference Championship on Lake Winnipesaukee, New

Review Of The Narrator's 'Choosing The Bass Or Sheila?'
I wonder if the narrator will choose the bass or Sheila? Firstly, I think he will choose the bass. Why I think he will choose the bass is, he loves
fishing. He never goes anywhere without a fishing rod. He also knows pretty much everything about fishing. Second, he knew he caught a big bass.
He could feel it tug on the rod. He also can hear the splash knowing that it is a bass.
Third, he knew it was an older fish. He can tell that it has been around for awhile. Why he thought is an older fish is because a younger fish wouldn't
of known there were rocks there. I think he could also choose Sheila. Why I think he will choose Sheila is, she is so attractive. He likes the way she
looks. He also the way is as a person. Second, he watches her.

Imagine sitting on a dock at a nearby pond, fishing and it is peaceful and quiet when all of sudden a fish bites the hook! Fishing is all about waiting
patiently for the right fish, having the right equipment, and knowing what a person wants to catch; fishing is more than a way to survive, it has now
grown into a lucrative sport, and become a big hobby for many people around the world. Fishing is a sport that all started with a stick, line, a hook, and
a bait. The whole goal of fishing is to catch a fish, either fresh or saltwater. The sport is also called angling, but since it has increased around the world,
it has been changed to fishing. The development of fishing equipment has gradually increased throughout the years. Equipment used to be just a stick
or a bush vine, a string, and a piece of bone, or a hook (Aggarwal). Now, the equipment is more technologically advance to better the odds of ... Show

The main purpose of fly–fishing is to get the fish to bite and "imitation" of a bug. There are many techniques for fly–fishing, to fit the weather
conditions such as the haul cast for it is windy. Bait fishing is also called bottom fishing, which is to catch fish purposely by using a type of bait
such as worms, crickets, and even small fish. Some of the techniques for bait fishing are bottom rigging, jugging, and the most common is with a
cork (RBFF). Trolling is the use of live bait and artificial lures that are left in the water behind a slow moving boat. Netting is a setline that traps the
fish. Netting is mostly used in commercial fishing and catching baitfish. The object of noodling is to catch only catfish, with out a rod and a line, and
use only a person's hands, or feet. Noodling is mostly done in shallow waters. Ice fishing is normally done in the colder states. When someone goes ice

considered a favorite hobby.
One of the fishing is fishing for fresh water. Freshwater fishing is a great sport outdoors, since it involves catching fish in streams, rivers and lakes,
which requires much patience, so it is very difficult. It requires you to acquire skills in a period of time. However, this fun and challenging activity can
be done even with children.
Before fishing, it's a good idea for you to check state requirements for fishing, just to make sure you have the proper documentation to fish. For

Essay About Fishing
Ever since I was a young kid my father has been taking me fishing. He has successfully brainwashed me into loving the activity. Now don't get me
wrong, I love the sport and I am so thankful that my father shared with me this passion. The stories that I could tell about our fishing adventures are
endless. My dad has been taking me out fishing every chance he could. There are however a few instances that shine through the countless hours out on
the water with poles in hand.
During a family vacation out on lake Winnipesaukee I was sitting out on the dock with my insignificant ugly stick pole in my hand waiting for a fish to
bite the end of my line. Just like most kids I was using a bright red and white bobber with a nightcrawler wriggling on the hook. It was just before

moment. A smile molded itself on his face. All the years of bringing me and my brother out on the water, all the teaching of techniques, all the secret

Compare And Contrast Fishing Vs Traditional Fishing
The facts state if you want to be a better fishermen you have know when to fish and how to do it. This problem is for all fishermen that want to catch
more fish during that season. If you know how to fish these seasons then it really is no problem. The point of my paper is to help people out during the
tough fishing seasons. And which is better winter or summer fishing and why. My first point of business is summer fishing is a very difficult. And
when the going gets tough you need to know what your doing. First things first the lures you need Senko Worm, BiCO Jigs, Zara Spook, Jr
LiveTarget, Hollow Belly Frog, Bomber Deep Fat Free Shad. and that's just some baites that you use during the summer. This time of year is great
for lures that can be power fished. Power fishing is bass fishing with fast moving lures. These faster lures allow you to cover a lot of water quickly,

catch the big one. People really don't fish in these times because it so hard. But that's not the case if you know what your doing and the right
techniques and lures. So if you really think about it it's worth fishing during these times. The common ground between the two are the different type
of fishing you have to do slow and fast different movements and it's really complicated. In all certainty fishing is a sport and it takes practise and its

Recreational Fishing Regulations Should Not Be Banned
Recreational Bottom Fishing Regulations Recreational fishing is the act of fishing for fun, to pass the time or for sport. There is no prize in this type
of fishing except for relaxation and whatever one catches. The fish caught can be eaten or released, but they may not be sold. Bag limits set on the
species of fish regulations on the number of this fish one fisherman is allowed to keep without releasing. Regulations cover everything from amounts
and size of the fish caught, to location and even the tackle the fish can be caught on. Bottom fishing is when a person goes fishing for a specific type of
fish that is mainly found around or near the bottom of the water column in the body of water in which they live. These regulations are currently
changed by the government and politicians and should not be. Politicians are making the laws, but not doing their own studies. "State and federal
governments share authority over the regulation and management of fish and fishing in the United States," (Fish and Fishing). While they get
information from researchers, scientists such as marine biologists should be the people changing and setting limits on fishing because they are the
folks actually doing the research. They know how the different changes in numbers of a particular species will affect the populations of the species
they are setting limits on as well as other fish who eat or get eaten by the fish of interest. "State laws met with very limited success," (Fish and

Personal Narrative Essay: Similarities Between Hunting And...
Reaching in the cold water and snatching a massive bass is an amazing feeling, but nothing beats the feeling of walking up on the trophy buck you have
been tracking for the past hour. Although I love to both hunt and fish, I tend to show a little more favoritism towards hunting. Hunting and fishing
usually are activities that typically go hand in hand. Personally, I have noticed that most of my friends who hunt, often fish as well. This is because
where there is water, there is usually deer around that area. Hunting and fishing are different, but they are both are exciting and require patience.
I have always had a strong passion for fishing. Last summer I would often wake up at the crack of dawn to go fishing. The thrill of catching a big
fish is very exciting and will put you in a good mood for the rest of the day. On the other hand, waking up early in the morning and coming back
empty handed will ruin your day. Fishing will also tire someone out very quickly. Fishing requires you to be constantly moving your arms back and
forth, causing aches and pains for the following days. But like I said earlier, It is all worth it when you catch that fish of a lifetime. My whole
experience of fishing changed on the morning of March 20, 2016. We were catching so many fish that morning that it was unbelievable. I then felt a
tug on my line that was different than anything I had felt before. I set the hook on the monster fish and realized I was in for a fight. After a minute or

would build when the area was running low on supplies and wood for the other canoes. To build this boat, they would first need to cut down some
tule, then let it dry while. Tule is a plant that would grow in water areas and would be found off the coasts of areas. When the tule is dry, the Chumash

Bass Fishing
"The initial Classic for the world championship was held on Nevada's Lake Mead, and the purse was all of $10,000 ("Bass Fishing, Then and
Now"). This is important because the bass fishing industry has changed a great deal since the first bass classic. In the Bassmaster Classic in 2016, the
winner was awarded $300,000, while the second and third place were awarded about $40,00("Bass Fishing, Then and Now"). There is a drastic
difference from when the grand prize was only $10,000. In order to fully understand how bass fishing has changed over the years, fishermen need to
analyze gear and equipment, recognize how pollution and climate change has played a role in the fishing industry, and grasp how overfishing has
depleted our nation's waterways. They need to do all of this so that bass fishing can become what it should be.

Personal Narrative Essay : My Favorite Fishing Day
My Favorite Fishing Day It was about six o'clock in the morning when my grandfather comes in to wake me up and said time to get ready and come
get some breakfast. I had coffee and toast like I do every morning I spend with him. My dad was already up and packed our lunch and a cooler full of
drinks. At 6:40 we went to the bait shop where our charter captain's boat is at. It was a warm morning off the start and the sound was a little rough
but I knew we were still going and were going to make it a great day. He arrived shortly after we did, morning Chris my dad said. He replied how y'all
doing. We helped him unload all of his gear and into the boat. Once we got away from the dock we could see some baitfish surfacing so he got a cast
net. This net has a twenty–foot diameter and weighs about 35 pounds with all the weights on it. He takes a throw and brings it back in our job was to
take all the bad fish out and throw them back and put the good ones in the live well. We started out the port, what we call the port is actually the
Beaufort inlet when 300–foot–long boats can come in and either load or unload. On the other side of the port is a coast guard base so we get to see
coast guard boats almost every day. It took us about an hour and fifteen minutes to get out into the ocean. Once we were there I could not see any
land just the top of the light house off in the distance. We got set up and got where we needed to be and started slow trolling with live menhaden
to try to catch king and Spanish mackerel. Soon after you could see the fish strike at the bait we caught one king right off the bat but it took
probably another half hour before another one was on. I was feeling a little sea sick at this time so Ethan was reeling in all the fish. I was sick for
about 45 minutes and then I started to feel better. When I started to feel better we started getting some bites, soon we had a fish on. It was kind of
tough to reel in but not terrible. When I got it close enough to the boat Chris grabbed the gaff hook and hooks it right behind the head. And pulls it
into the boat and tosses in into the cooler. We decided to get some fresh air and move to a different spot. We started to move and I see Chris push two

Informative Essay On Fly Fishing
Fly fishing is an ancient sport, with records of Romans in 200 AD using flies to catch trout. Fly fishing is a term used to describe the angling or
fishing method that uses an artificial fly to entice the fish. The fly is cast into the water by a fly reel, fly rod and a weighted line that has to conform
to specializations. These artificial flies resemble food organisms or other natural inverterbrates. The technique of fly fishing is significantly different
from other forms of fishing because it involves casting or throwing an almost weightless artificial fly. They also vary with fishing locations or habitats
such as estuaries, lakes, bays, ponds, rivers and streams.

bottom. Reel in any slack line, then when your float is directly across from you, free spool and allow your float to freely float down river . Your
weight should be fished so you feel the river bottom every 3 feet or so, and presentation should be Dead Drift. It is important that your float is drifting
at the same speed as the current.
The bite is often soft , if you feel your spinner stop turning, set the hook , that's a fish.
Down & across presentation is used for tailouts or riffle water. Often the water is less than 3 feet deep and to Free Float would result in snagging
the bottom . Cast your lure upsteam and across then reel in any slack line. When your float is across from you, Free spool. Unlike the Free Floating
put your thumb on the drum of the reel and allow slight drag. This will slow your float and allow it to come across the river.
There are several important factors to consider while fishing this method. Anytime you allow drag on your reel, the lure will lift off the rivers
bottom. To compansate, try setting your float 3 to 6 inches deeper than the water yo'ur fishing. The second factor to consider is what size of blade to
use. When allowing drag on your reel your blade will speed up, the greater the drag the faster the blade will turn, so you may have to increase the size

restaurant markets in China report, it states that the demand for restaurant services will increase continuously at around 9% by 2023 (Reuters, 2014).
First, the increasing demand results from the fast development of society. Nowadays, people are able to improve the living standard and have more
disposable income. Middle–level citizens pursue the quality of life; therefore they patronize various restaurants and have different experiences. Also,

With this aggression, comes the feeding factor. Spotted bass are often found chasing bait, the term bait includes herring, minnows, and any other
type of small fish. Spotted bass often position themselves on windy banks or points because the wind will push all of the bait into one area. When
the Spotted Bass come onto these points and banks they will push all of the largemouth and smallmouth bass off of these banks. The wind does
not always blow in one direction so once the wind changes the Spotted Bass will go find a different bank with bait on it. This is so bad because
the wind might be going east, then turn west for a day, then go back to blowing east, when this happens the Spotted Bass push the other fish off of
these banks , then the other fish come back when the Spotted Bass leave but then the wind turns again and the Spotted Bass push the other fish away
again. Spotted bass are very fast fish and for the bait to survive they have to become faster, the other fish that eat the bait are not as fast as the Spotted
Bass so they have a hard time catching the bait. This diffuses a major food source for the other fish species.

Catch And Release Is Inhumane
Catch and Release of Fish: Inhumane or Humane to Trout Populations A debate that has recently been brought more into focus in the public eye is that
of whether catch and release is humane or inhumane to trout populations. Recent hype on conservation of our natural and surrounding environment has
increasingly gained popularity through conservation efforts. It is through conservation efforts that the question of, "catch and release" has gained more
attention as a means to determine if a law that was put into effect to protect and insure the healthy population of trout, may be contributed to a possible

Old Man Santiago Chapter 1 Summary

  • 1. Old Man Santiago Chapter 1 Summary Old Man– Santiago frequently tells us that he respects and loves the fish, even though he remains prepared to kill it. He even goes as far to say that the marlin is his brother. Rather than seeing the fish as a meal on a hook, he draws connections to himself and to the fish out of respect and awe. The old man thinks of nature and humanity as a whole instead of thinking that he is separate from nature. He feels as connected to the sea, and to the fish, as he does to the boy. Though he does not let his sense of unity come between his drive to kill the marlin, his respect for the lives in the sea manifest through his tendency to only eat what he needs. He feels a connection to the nature around him, and losing his catch does not lessen his love for the sea or the creatures within. The fish was a worthy opponent. It never belonged to him just as a brother cannot belong to a brother. They are equally insignificant in the grand scheme of things, and the old man accepts the fact that the sea can take what it gives without resenting it, as it is the nature of the ocean. Emerson and Thoreau– Emerson emphasizes that all men must be ranked under nature. He understands that humans are just ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Even though the clip is a cartoon made for entertainment, it has truth. Global warming gets worse every year, and political leaders do not take appropriate measures to reduce the greenhouse gases that are released into the atmosphere each year. Even though we are all affected by the increasing heat, many people would rather use a ton of energy than try to conserve the limited resources we have. An inconvenient truth shows how people tend to put themselves before nature, and that we view ourselves as separate from animals and nature. Maybe if we acknowledged our connection to the whole world, we would try harder to protect and preserve our ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. Success In Norman Rockwell's Painting 'The Catch' What does one need to be happy? Is it a nice car? Maybe it's a new pair of shoes? What about success? What defines success and what does one need to be successful? The truth is, it depends on one's definition. Success can be defined in different ways. Success could be defined as being financially stable, or it could be something as simple as feeling accomplished with achieved goals. Norman Rockwell's painting "The Catch" offers refreshing ideas on what it means to be happy and what one needs to be successful. At first glance, Rockwell's painting illustrates a successful day of fishing for three young friends, all of whom have their catch for the day strung in one hand and their fishing gear in the other. Out of the three boys in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Rockwell's painting suggests the idea that money is not a determining factor in happiness. Upon further examination of Rockwell's portrait, the viewer starts to notice the smaller details and "tons of interesting objects" that are only noticed after examining the painting multiple times (Venezia, 31). One starts to notice the smaller details, such as quality of the boys' clothes and what they are carrying. The happier boys lack pairs of shoes and have an abundance of holes in their clothing. The somber looking boy has a clean white shirt tucked into pants, a bow around his collar, and expensive looking fishing gear. After noting the appearance of all three boys, the viewer's eyes are drawn to the fish that the upscale boy is carrying. His one and only fish is small–not even half the size of any of the fish the other boys caught. The clean–cut boy in the center is unhappy and only has one measly fish to show for the day's work. Meanwhile, the two underdressed boys are both carrying multiple fish of decent size in their hands. It is surprising that the boy with expensive fishing gear only has one small fish. Upon first glance, one would assume that the well–dressed boy would have been the most prosperous in catching the most fish. He has the most suitable fishing gear, but he did not end up being the most fortunate when it came to catching fish. • 3. Guide To Fishing Research Paper The How to Guide to Fishing The possibilities of getting lost in the woods or some other remote area is very slim. However, if it were to happen to you, would you know how to catch you own food to survive? Or in a lighter sense, do you need a hobby or maybe just something to pass the time away? Fishing is the solution to all of your problems. Going fishing can also be extremely difficult and flabbergasting at times. You have to know the right bait to use, how to rig your rod, and how to fish at the location you're at. Before you can just go throwing a line into any pond or lake, there's a whole mess of things you need to learn about. To get started you're going to need something to catch fish with. Standard rods and reels come together at ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Most open–faced rods come with line already wrapped but in the case that it is not wrap it around the base making sure it is underneath the unlocked reel and reel until all the line comes out, then simply run the line through the holes that line the rod. Once you've done this lock the reel back and place a weight through the end of the line and hold it there until you can get a hook. Tie the hook to the end of your line and you're ready to apply your bait. Crickets and worms are applied by running the hook from the head of their body to the end. In the case of live bait put the hook through the tail or gills for best results. Any other type of bait works fine as long as the hook is hidden inside the bait. Most artificial baits come with instructions on how to apply it to the hook as most of them are extremely different. To cast an open–faced rod, make sure you hold the line while unlocking the reel, and release the line when you go to cast. On a push button rod hold the button down until you cast and release just like an open–face. To get the best results it is good to practice this motion with a rubber hook before you go on your ... • 4. Research Paper About Fishing Have you ever been fishing? I have! Fishing is one of my favorite things to do at this stage in my life. I have only recently got into fishing. I'm going to talk about how, why, and when I started this hobby. Also if you're interested in trying fishing I'll tell you what you can do to give it a try for yourself. Just like everything it has its ups and downs, but I hope this at least gets you interested in fishing like it did for me. You can never go wrong trying something new and seeing if you like it. I haven't always been interested in fishing. When I was younger, I never enjoyed fishing because it requires lots of patience's, which being the young, immature kid I was I didn't have any. As I got older I tried it more and more and started to fall in love with it, at first I didn't take it seriously but started to practice and get better. I found myself fishing almost every day because there was no feeling that could compare to a fish jumping on my line. I decided I wanted to try and compete with it. I decided to participate in a local tournament and I was fishing with one of my coaches from my high school team. We took off early in the morning and pulled up to our first fishing hole, the lake was like glass, and I could see my reflection in the water. About five minutes into fishing my partner yells "FISH ON" and that was my sign to grab the net to make sure we got the fish in the boat. I set my pole down on the back of the boat and grabbed the net. I sprinted to the front of the boat an as soon as I netted his fish, I turn around and see my three hundred dollar pole shoot off the back of the boat in about 70 feet of Ozark lake water. Of course I was upset but I knew everything didn't always go well. The bright side was we caught a fish that would help us in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Crappie Fishing Season In most places, the "official" start of crappie fishing season is March 1st. However, because there are locations across the nation where large crappie can be found at Christmas or in the middle of summer, many avid fishermen will go out for a catch at any time of year. The reason that crappiefishing season is considered to begin in March is that crappie begins to spawn at this time of year. Therefore, the high point of the year to find great quantities of large slabs is from the beginning of March to the end of April. The pre–spawn cycle where crappie is traveling to shallower waters for the laying of eggs begins in March, and the spawning takes place in mid–April, and this cycle provides the greatest access to schools of crappie where you'll ... One of the fish studies that provides evidence of convergence and cognitive functioning in fish, is Schuster studies on archerfish. Archerfish use a blast of water from their mouths to hunt insects, and Shuster believes these archerfish are making complex intelligent decisions while doing so. Shuster explains how the archerfish hunt, and how they cant hit targets out of water at very high speeds, but in many of Shusters experiments it was concluded that the ability for an archerfish to shoot insects at full speed, and on an angle, was something they learned by watching other fish perform this task. The boy explains how she is tan, has nice outfits and nice hair. Another reason could be because he likes her. He mentions how he would do laps and keep on showing off in front of her. He also learned all of her moods. The boy could also choose the fish. The fish is the biggest hes ever caught. The fish was bending the rod and the bass was going in stronger currents and still pulled the canoe. The boy also spent a lot on fishing equipment. • 8. Alaskan Fishing History Fishing has been around for a really long time and there is more history that can be found concerning fishing, than there is the vast amount fish that are in the ocean at any given minute. I might be stretching it a bit, but that sure is a lot of history! When you hear the word "fishing" tons and tons of thoughts or imaginations might be going through your mind. Maybe you're thinking of all the good times you had with your family members catching fish on a boat or how much you love for your favorite, tasty salmon salad to quench your watering mouth. I think of their terrible stench and how they make my gagging reflexes shoot through the roof! Throughout the years of fishing history, there has been good ways of fishing and not so good ways of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Fishers in the Atlantic Ocean seem to not care at all about the well being of the environment and they care more about the quick catch as I like to call it. The quicker the catch the faster the cash is filling selfish, greedy fisher's pockets. They are willing to go to great lengths to get the fast money regardless of the lasting damage they cause. It all comes down to their bad fishing techniques. Bottom trawling is a good example of this. They make trawls with large rubber tires or rollers and they help for the net to move over the rocky regions and coral reefs of the ocean floor (Fishing Problems: Destructive Fishing Practices.) These trawls literally destroy homes for fish and make it nearly impossible for them to recover (Fishing Problems: Destructive Fishing Practices.) In fact, 4km of scars on the reefs of the north–east Atlantic Ocean have been found (Fishing Problems: Destructive Fishing Practices.) Dynamite fishing is the next bad fishing technique used. Okay, let's just take a moment to think of how bad "dynamite fishing" sounds in and of its self. I think we can all understand what type of damage this does not only to the sea life, but to the environment. They literally kill all the fish and wait for them to float to the surface so they can easily scoop them up (Fishing Problems: Destructive Fishing Practices.) They must not be thinking with any foresight because the destruction that fishing like ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Pros And Cons Of Being A Fish What ever you know about the game and fish of north dakota may be repeated in this article but hey it got me kind of thinking of being a game warden and it will probably be my second job. So as long as you like to help people and wildlife your in luck this is the job for you. • 10. Fishing Research Papers Fishing is a worldwide sport loved by millions of people and the heart of many towns and communities around the world. One of only a few outdoor activities that are open year long and one can go whenever he or she pleases. Fishing takes skill, patience and luck. Some people are known for their luck of fishing and others for their skill. Over time, people become known for what they are good at, and what they are bad at, this applies to fishing too. Everyone thinks of himself as 'that' guy, no matter what, there is always a way to classify every fisherman, from "Die Hards", "Know It Alls", "Lucky Guy", "Unlucky Guy", the "Snag Master" or the "Rage Monster." Everyone's goal is to catch the biggest fish, but some people want it to happen while others make it happen. The guys who make it happen are known as the "Die Hards." These guys go out when everyone is inside, no matter the weather, and no matter the cost, they'll risk their boat for a fish. They study and analyze the fish's every move, knowing when they spawn, how the water temperature affects them, and what time of day is the best to go out. These guys are the real deal, they know everything about fishing. For example, Aaron Meyer is a musky guide in northern MN who guides five to six days a week. When he isn't guiding, he's fishing ... • 11. Similarities Between Hunting And Fishing Hunting and fishing have been around since there were people. Before people could go to the store and buy goods, they had to use what nature had given them in order to survive. Today, hunting and fishing is not necessary for survival, but is rather enjoyable and a great excuse to get out and enjoy God's beautiful country. Fishing is a great pass time; however, hunting is more worthwhile because of the wide variety of game, the endless options of gear and equipment, the breathtaking locations, and the ability to target specific animals. One of the main differences between hunting and fishing is the targeted game. Fishing refers to catching or trying to catch fish in the water for meat or for sport, whereas hunting refers to killing or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They can not take a boat full of gear out to the deer stand. Hunters need less equipment than fishermen, which will save time and money. The great thing about hunting and fishing is being outside in the many vast locations that are part of God's country. Few things are as peaceful as watching the forest come alive or the sun rise over the treetops and reflect off of the flat calm lake. It is a beautiful experience. But as beautiful as the sun rising off the lake is, it does not compare to the various other locations that hunting offers. While fishing, a person is always on the water, whether that is on a river, lake or ocean. Hunting offers many options such as in the mountains in the West, the dry desert in the Southwest, the farm fields in the Midwest, the swamps down South, and any place in between. These many options make hunting very diverse. Unlike fishing, hunting offers the ability to target specific animals. When a person is fishing and a small fish or the wrong species is caught, they can just throw it back. It is hard to do that with hunting, because the animal is already dead and not using it would be extremely wasteful. • 15. Why Fishing Should Be Considered A Sport Why Fishing Should Be Considered A Sport Fishing should be considered a sport because it meets all four criteria that define a sport in the Cambridge Dictionary. It states that a sport is a game or competition, a job that takes physical effort and skill and is played or done by following rules between an opponent or the environment. The time it takes to become good at fishing is very comparable to that of the time it takes to become good at another sport. While fishing may not be the first thing people think of as a sport, it has every aspect of one. While fishing is not the most physically intensive sport, it still has an amazing potential to tire one out. There are several categories that differentiate a sport from other activities. They are competitiveness, physicality, opponents, rules and regulations. One of the main attributes that defines a sport is the competition. Without competition there is no sport. If they see the bait clearly, it could become obvious to them that its movements are not lifelike. Wind can also be a detriment to casting the line. There are many basic casting techniques, there is the overhead cast where you simply cast the line out from above your head, then there is a forearm cast where you cast the line from the right side of your body if you are right handed, and then there is a backhand cast, where you cast the opposite side as the forearm. Some of these ways are the texas rig, drop shot rig, wacky rig, and the carolina rig. All of these bring a different look the the fish. First let's talk about the texas rig, it is the most common of them all, it is also the most basic. The texas rig requires a bullet weight that slips on your line and then you tie your hook on. After that you hook the plastic worm through the head and come back out after about two centimeters, you then hook the worm again in the body, but make sure your hook does not come all the way through because you want it to be weedless and not get snagged up (Neporadny, 102). The drop shot rig most people think is a very difficult way to fish but it is actually very easy. It has a few more steps than other rigging techniques but it is a very good way to catch more fish. It starts out opposite of the texas rig, because you are tying on your hook first and not your weight. While tying on your hook you want to leave anywhere from twelve to thirty inches of line after the hook is tied on. The amount of extra line is based on how high you want your worm to be in the water. The extra line is where you tie on your weight and it makes it so the worm is suspended in the water off of the bottom. The plastic worm is hooked the same way as a texas rig (Neporadny, 110). The wacky rig is a very simple and effective way to catch fish. You can use any type of weight in this technique. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Every night without knowing what I was actually doing, I would visit the Bass Pro Shops website looking at camping gear, fishing gear, hunting gear, anything that they would list. I would discern the quality gear from the cheap stuff purely off of looks. I had no idea what the difference between a large red spinner bait and the small yellow one was, but my favorite color was red so the former was obviously of a better quality to me than the latter. Of course this was delusional as I had to go through the usual routine of family gatherings: hug the close relatives, say hi to the distant ones, get offered food, tell them no, eat it anyway. All that I could think of during this process was that I was wasting my time when I should be focused on catching this fish. At this point it was around noon, so now I had to wait until after lunch to start fishing. By 12:30 I could practically feel the lake pulling me, wanting me to discover the creatures that lurked in its depths. I had to bargain with my mom that I would eat more later so that I could finally start my quest. After a long negotiation I was able to grab my fishing pole from the car and get to work. That day I had two fishing poles rigged in two different styles trying to catch two different kinds of fish. Pole number one was my favorite pole. A productive way of fishing crappie is to nymph. I prefer using a non–bead head Prince Nymph to allow for the nymph to sink slowly. You may also swap out the Prince Nymph for any bead head or non–bead head variation of a Mayfly Nymph, Hares Ear Nymph or mix it up and see what works in your area. Crappie will feed up or out so you will need to use a strike indicator when nymphing for crappie. If you are unsure of the water depth use an indicator which can be quickly adjusted. A Corkie, Thingamabobber or Airlock indicator can be easily moved up and down the leader to adjust for depth. Try tying your nymph as a dropper under a foam fly. Soon humans would come along and carry on the practice of surviving and thriving this ancient way. Both hunting and fishing are skills that are still used today, but are not used so much as to survive but as a sport. What are the similarities and differences between hunting? Well for those of the readers that have not participated in either events or do engage but have never wondered about this question, hopefully this essay will answer all of your questions about the similarity and differences between hunting and fishing. To be prosperous in both hunting and fishing one must be able to determine the location of the animal you are stalking. While hunting may be easier to track the animal, fish can only move so much because they are stuck in a body of water. Both deer and bass prefer to stick in cover of bushes and fallen trees. Both bass and deer ВЁbed" during the day; however bass like deer will occasionally move in daylight. There is no prize in this type of fishing except for relaxation and whatever one catches. The fish caught can be eaten or released, but they may not be sold. Bag limits set on the species of fish regulations on the number of this fish one fisherman is allowed to keep without releasing. Regulations cover everything from amounts and size of the fish caught, to location and even the tackle the fish can be caught on. • 32. Personal Narrative Essay : My Favorite Fishing Day My Favorite Fishing Day It was about six o'clock in the morning when my grandfather comes in to wake me up and said time to get ready and come get some breakfast. I had coffee and toast like I do every morning I spend with him. My dad was already up and packed our lunch and a cooler full of drinks. At 6:40 we went to the bait shop where our charter captain's boat is at. It was a warm morning off the start and the sound was a little rough but I knew we were still going and were going to make it a great day. He arrived shortly after we did, morning Chris my dad said. He replied how y'all doing. We helped him unload all of his gear and into the boat. Once we got away from the dock we could see some baitfish surfacing so he got a cast net. This net has a twenty–foot diameter and weighs about 35 pounds with all the weights on it. He takes a throw and brings it back in our job was to take all the bad fish out and throw them back and put the good ones in the live well. We started out the port, what we call the port is actually the Beaufort inlet when 300–foot–long boats can come in and either load or unload. On the other side of the port is a coast guard base so we get to see coast guard boats almost every day. It took us about an hour and fifteen minutes to get out into the ocean. Once we were there I could not see any land just the top of the light house off in the distance. We got set up and got where we needed to be and started slow trolling with live menhaden to try to catch king and Spanish mackerel. Soon after you could see the fish strike at the bait we caught one king right off the bat but it took probably another half hour before another one was on. I was feeling a little sea sick at this time so Ethan was reeling in all the fish. I was sick for about 45 minutes and then I started to feel better. When I started to feel better we started getting some bites, soon we had a fish on. It was kind of tough to reel in but not terrible. When I got it close enough to the boat Chris grabbed the gaff hook and hooks it right behind the head. And pulls it into the boat and tosses in into the cooler. We decided to get some fresh air and move to a different spot. We started to move and I see Chris push two buttons on ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. Informative Essay On Fly Fishing Fly fishing is an ancient sport, with records of Romans in 200 AD using flies to catch trout. Fly fishing is a term used to describe the angling or fishing method that uses an artificial fly to entice the fish. These artificial flies resemble food organisms or other natural inverterbrates. The technique of fly fishing is significantly different from other forms of fishing because it involves casting or throwing an almost weightless artificial fly. They also vary with fishing locations or habitats such as estuaries, lakes, bays, ponds, rivers and streams. There are some basics that you should know about fly fishing. It is important ... There are serveral alternative methods that work well too. Traditional float fishing rigs consist of a float, pencil lead or splitshot and your choice of lure. Most common choice of lure would be cured roe, wool combinations , or corkies and small spin n glo's. Set up your rod the same as if you were fishing yarn or bait; float, weight, leader and spinner . Cast slightly up stream and allow your lure to reach bottom. Reel in any slack line, then when your float is directly across from you, free spool and allow your float to freely float down river . Your weight should be fished so you feel the river bottom every 3 feet or so, and presentation should be Dead Drift. It is important that your float is drifting at the same speed as the current. The bite is often soft , if you feel your spinner stop turning, set the hook , that's a fish. Down & across presentation is used for tailouts or riffle water. Often the water is less than 3 feet deep and to Free Float would result in snagging the bottom . Cast your lure upsteam and across then reel in any slack line. When your float is across from you, Free spool. Unlike the Free Floating put your thumb on the drum of the reel and allow slight drag. This will slow your float and allow it to come across the river. There are several important factors to consider while fishing this method. Anytime you allow drag on your reel, the lure will lift off the rivers bottom. To compansate, try setting your float 3 to 6 inches deeper than the water yo'ur fishing. The second factor to consider is what size of blade to use. When allowing drag on your reel your blade will speed up, the greater the drag the faster the blade will turn, so you may have to increase the size ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Spotted bass often position themselves on windy banks or points because the wind will push all of the bait into one area. When the Spotted Bass come onto these points and banks they will push all of the largemouth and smallmouth bass off of these banks. The wind does not always blow in one direction so once the wind changes the Spotted Bass will go find a different bank with bait on it. This is so bad because the wind might be going east, then turn west for a day, then go back to blowing east, when this happens the Spotted Bass push the other fish off of these banks , then the other fish come back when the Spotted Bass leave but then the wind turns again and the Spotted Bass push the other fish away again.
