Beyond the Beauty
When having to choose two works of art to compare and analyze, it had occurred to me that one of my all time favorite artist has always been Vincent
Van Gogh. After searching through countless of Van Gogh's magnificent works of art, I knew I wanted to analyze 'Houses in Auvers'. Once I chose my
first painting, the second piece fell right into place. Since Van Gogh was a painter in the post impressionist movement, deciding to choose another
painter from that movement worked out well. I chose, 'Auvers, Panoramic View', painted by Paul Cezanne. A majority of people admiring these
paintings would realize at least two elements: houses, and the beauty. Although, looking beyond the beauty of the town, there are many more
comparisons.

Both of these works of art have a dull–like feel to them. Although, in Van Gogh's painting, less of the town had been painted. Having chosen to paint
only a few houses from the town, this gives the viewers a feel of homeliness. With this being said, the use of color in Van Gogh's is much more, and
to a point, more vibrant than Cezanne's. The color in both works of art accomplishes much more than add to the beauty of the surroundings and
landscape. The color used in both these paintings does a stunning job describing the world around them. Even though the color may be dull, it adds to
the emotion of both paintings. With Cezanne's having a bigger point of view than Van Gogh's, the color is distributed immensely in 'Auvers,
Panoramic view'. Having this be said, in Cezanne's the viewer gains a superior perspective on the surroundings and the atmosphere the town gives off.

Frida Kahlo is a celebrated Mexican artist that came from a multi–racial background. Her heritage and other pivotal moments in he life would later be

so with his unique approach to describing it. It was quite difficult to select one specific place to explore since all seemed so tantalizing, but I

The lines that are used do not outline individual objects in the painting but define the shapes of each. They show the direction that the artist took when
painting this particular art piece. They are delicate and sensitive lines in the sense that they are not always visible but they still define the object.
The painting has been painted to a deep 2D form. This form creates an illusion of a large amount of space. As if to create the illusion that you were

Look at the color red, a color known for its beauty and while it may not be in everybody's catalogue of beauty, it cannot be denied of its intensity. If
one is showed a stunning painting of a red rose, one of the descriptions that could apply to that paining is beauty: seeing such an elegant spectacle of
nature being emulated on paper can be quite stimulating. Another description that could be associated with a red rose is passion, as such a color may
leave one energized and spontaneous; however how would one respond if they were told that the painting of the rose was painted with blood. Now a
painting that once may have suggested the aspects of beauty and passion, may stir descriptions such as fear, aggression, danger and yet passion as
well; therefore, bringing one to the understanding that "Every image embodies a way of seeing" (Berger, 142). This is why paintings should be
viewed as a spectacle; hence, this brings me to the painting I was presented with by John Berger in his book Ways of seeing in which he argues how
through reproduction the modern context of the Old Masters' paintings severed them from what they meant in the time of their production. The
painting that demanded my attention was Wheatfield with Crows by Van Gogh, something that may seem simple at first but is rich with emotion.

The Starry Night are one of Vincent Van Gogh's most famous paintings. The Starry Night was painted from a memory that he had. And wasn't
painted from a landscape. The landscape was formed using curves and forms of short lines he also used a form of swirling lines and texture. He used
blue, white, and yellow lines to paint the piece. And it became one of his most famous pieces of art. He finished the art piece in 1889.

This paper will discuss two iconic impressionist artist, Vincent Van Gogh and Edgar Degas. I will give details on these two artist lives, and see how
they use impressionism to make their beautiful paintings like, Vincent Van Gogh's "The Starry Night" and Edgar Degas' "Dancers in Blue". I will

Impressionism is a late French 19th century art movement, which was all about the impression of art. The point was to emphasize the artist's
perception of the subject matter as much as the subject itself. More like if you had only just caught a glimpse of it, but could still recognize the
subject. It incorporated new scientific research into the physics of color to achieve a more exact representation of color and tone. Someone using this
style would apply paint in small touches of pure color rather than in broader strokes. Detail wasn't something to worry about with this style it even lead
to another style of art called pointillism. They were paintings with small dots, which gave them a greater sense of vibrancy when seen from a distance.
